  • Recipe error, (God11 AL)

First-time bread maker, following instructions in the cookbook. EPIC FAIL! The sourdough recipe is incorrect, costing me time and money. I finally searched and found another Curtis Stone cookbook that is very different. Would have given it a five if the book was correct.

Did not receive a recipe book with my bread cooker? So I'm on my own so far the bread has been real bad. Got recipes Online. never worked. I have made six loaves now. that went in the trash. If I had known this, I would not have purchased it too. late now.

    02/15/2022

I love my Curtis stone products but I was only able to use this bread maker a couple times and lost the paddle I just wished he sold replacement parts now I cant use my bread maker anymore and finding a universal that fits is impossible so now it just sits in the kitchen a complete waste! Curtis can you please make replacements available?

Received this item and made 2 breads. they came out great and tasted great. We then attempted to make 3 more breads which never rose??? We called customer service who told us to adjust the recipe. The item is promoted as full proof? what am i adjusting? Unfortunately I will be sending this item back.

Disappointing. Some of the bread tasted and smelled like plastic. Basic white bread was okay. But the recipes that called for butter tasted like plastic. I cleaned the bread container as instructed. The teflon coating could be the issue. I'm going back to the old fashion way of baking bread.

  • OK, but bread could rise more, (DTBenefits NV)

I must have done something wrong. I made cheese jalapeo bread and it was tasty, but the two-pound loaf looked like 1-pound size. Back to the drawing board.....

  • Need high altitude baking instructions, (Junie633 AZ)
    12/15/2020

We tried french bread and it flopped, so after reading abt bread machines we think we need a high altitude recipe and we may have to bake all bread in regular oven. So very disappointed so far. Will try again after getting your sifter and King Arthur flour and see what happens. I want to love this & so does my husband. We are at 7,000 ft. altitude. Any tips to make this work!

  • Weight button doesnt work. , (Rcjersey AL)
    11/30/2020

I wish I could give five stars. The machine is great, but the quality is disappointing. The weight select button worked once. The second time I used the machine, the button doesnt work. It took so long to be shipped and now I have to return. Very frustrating.

Still have not received the bread maker -- HSN shipped a twin bedspread instead (but with the breadmaker packing slip). However, HSN has made returns an easy process.

  • Okay bread machine, (BESSIEMOO AR)
    05/24/2020

Plus side: lots of options and very lightweight. Negative: vibrates so much it actually vibrated off the kitchen counter. Attempted to make the cinnamon raisin bread in the cook book and added the fruit at the appropriate beeps. When completed all the raisins were at the bottom of the pan, bottom of the loaf. It had not incorporated the fruit in the dough at ALL. So if youre using it for a basic loaf it does the job, but not a heavy duty, quality machine.

  • Walked off the counter, (Angeli319 AZ)
    04/08/2020

Broken on the second use. Feet slid while kneading. When I heard the crash, I found it on the floor with the top plastic askew and the dough next to it. Maybe it didn't like rye bread? The screws holding it together have odd heads, so I can't examine internal damage. I am afraid to try to use it.

  • Its OK, (MAL14 PA)
    04/02/2020

Its very cheaply made. The gluten free bread that I made came out ok, but there was a clump of flour on the one corner that did not mix in well. I followed the directions precisely. The machine itself is a nice size and is easy to operate.

  • Paddle gets stuck and needs cancel button, (strz27 OH)
    12/10/2019

After making several loaves, paddle gets stuck at bottom of machine, at times the crust is overdone. This machine needs a cancel button, after I programmed the machine and hit start I noticed I hit a menu button accidentally and couldn't change it, had to run the whole cycle, wasted ingredients.

Got this thing and was excited about it. Made the white bread 2 lb loaf. It came out great. Then I tried the brioche 2lb loaf. It was a very big disappointment. When it was done it was all compact and small not even half the size for a 2lb loaf. Ive tried it 2 more times to no avail. I guess Ill just stick to the white bread recipe. Has anyone else been able to make the brioche bread successfully yet?

  • Disappointed , (Princess20510 CA)
    11/20/2019

I did return this bread maker after making three loaves of bread that didn't come out well. They didn't raise and I thought it was my yeast. Purchased fresh yeast still didn't make a large loaf of read. Loved the4 smaller size breaf maker but I'm keeping the one I have now.
