Kitchen HQ Automatic Smooth Edge Can Opener

It works great, but unlike the other one I have, it doesn't stop automatically. You have to press the button to stop.

THESE CAN BE GREAT BUT DON'T LEAVE THE BATTERIES IN IT WHEN NOT IN USE. I LEARNED THAT BECAUSE WHEN THEY SAT IN IT THE BATTERIES DRAINED AND THEN IT DIDN'T WORK. SINCE THEN I PUT THE BATTERIES IN BEFORE EACH USE AND REMOVE THEM AS SOON AS IT'S DONE. IT HAS WORKED GREAT SINCE THEN. GIVE IT A TRY YOU'VE GOT NOTHING TO LOSE.

Yes, it opens cans. But I cannot remove the lid with its puny magnet. I always use the parrot beak on my Kuhn can opener for that. Also, it always leaves tiny sharp metal around the lid and can which is very dangerous when the can opener is presented as safe enough to run your finger around the perimeter! I have stabbed my finger several times and I dont understand why the presenters always use the safety factor as a major selling point. Shame on you.

It has to go around 3-4 times before the lid comes off . Other then that its a handy tool to have.

I bought it because it was automatic. The edge is a little rough and I only got the magnet to lift the lid once out of 7 uses. I will say that maybe I got a less than great one as when demonstrated on the show, it worked very well. I'll keep it as it is electric. I can always use my Kuhn Rikon manual opener to remove the lid.

I purchased two of the Kitchen HQAutomatic Smooth Edge can Opener. The first time I used it no problem, the second time it got stuck on top of the can and I couldnt get it to move and it didnt turn off until I removed the batteries I got it to release the can, however, I put the batteries in and cant not turn it off. The second one was brought to give as a gift no way!!
