Coconut husk mulch block
  • By-product of the coconut industry
  • Once the inner seed (the actual coconut "nut") is removed from the outer shell, the remaining husk (comprised of the coconut fiber and coir pith) is coarsely shredded and compressed into blocks which, when added to water, provide an excellent mulch and soil amendment

Great alternative to other types of mulches and peat moss
  • Coir is a renewable resource
  • Coconut seed is an edible food source
  • The remaining portion of the coconut husk is used for a variety of items including ropes, doormats, soil amendments and mulch

Comes tightly compressed and shrink-wrapped in an 11-1/2"L x 5"W x 11-1/2"H cube
  • Compact and lightweight
  • Easier to transport and store than standard mulch
  • When mixed with water creates up to 30 square feet of 2" deep mulch and growing medium
  • Note: Size can vary slightly

Easy to use
  • Simply add block to 3 gallons of lukewarm water and let soak
  • Once block has absorbed all the water, crumble it and break it apart
  • Mix with potting soil, compost or loam

Perfect for gardens and flower beds
  • Use the mulch as top dressing for your plant beds or container plants
  • Use a 2" to 3" layer of coconut husk mulch in each bed

Natural brown color
  • Makes for attractive-looking beds

Coir has excellent water holding capacity
  • Requires less frequent watering as the coir will release water over time
  • When you use coir as a mulch or soil amendment, less water drains from the pot, necessitating less watering
  • Hydrophilic and rewets easily.
  • Reabsorbs beneficial rain/water allowing plants to better handle drought conditions

Long life span
  • Results in reduced use of mulch and soil amendments on a yearly basis due to the longer life span of coir
  • When coir eventually does biodegrade, it adds organic matter to the soil

Coir fibers feature high lignin and cellulose content
  • Coir doesn't compact

Reduced soil erosion
  • When you use coir as mulch, it can help prevent soil erosion

  • Since coir is odorless, it can be used in a variety of applications
  • No problematic or offensive aromas

1-year warranty
  • If you are not completely satisfied with your coconut husk mulch block, Spray-N-Grow will send a replacement product or provide an immediate, no-questions-asked refund within one year of purchase
  • Buy with confidence

  • wonderful product

it looked interesting to try , and works exactly as described, one wheelbarrow of mulch per bricks and it covered exactly 2ft by 5ft area to exactly 3 inches. this is much more expensive than local mulch where i could get a truckload for about 50 bucks but this is convenient and perfect for small spaces or to update older mulch.

  • MAJOR disappointment!

I have used Spray-N-Grow for years and have always been pleased with the results. I decided to try this coconut husk mulch since it is supposed to hold down weeds. I have often found that the pine bark mulch you buy at large home stores contain weeds which belies the purpose of mulch.First off, this does not cover 30 sq. ft. to a depth of 2 inches. Not even half that! I ordered two blocks to cover a front garden. I shall have to either order two more blocks (not likely considering the cost) or simply purchase brown cedar mulch to cover this stuff to fill in to the suggested depth. Further, I can buy a bag of good cedar mulch for $6, which will cover more than did one block of the coconut husk mulch.Since it comes as blocks and you have to add three gallons of water to expand it, there is no way you can return it, so you are stuck with over $50 worth of product that certainly does not provide the coverage promised.Save your money!
