Planting instructions
  • Viburnum do best in full sun
  • If you cannot plant immediately after receiving these plants, leave in pot please place them in a cool, shady, location
  • Before planting water them well 
  • Incorporate, in the hole, a mixture of compost, good garden soil, peat moss, sand or well-rotted manure (whatever is available for a good loose growing medium)
  • Work the soil at least 12' to 15' deep
  • Remove plant from pot and plant level with soil. Your plant should not be placed deeper than where the foliage and root join
  • Fill hole, firm the soil and water well
  • Water every three to four days for the first two weeks and then at least an inch of water a week
  • Make sure there are no air pockets
  • Cover with mulch to control weeds and retain moisture. Do not mound the mulch onto the stem
  • Plant 4' to 6' apart on each side
  • Apply fertilizer around the plant 2 weeks after planting

Continuing care
  • Newly set plants need moisture so they can grow a new root system. Water at fairly long intervals in dry weather.
  • Fertilize in early spring

Winterizing instructions
  • Lightly cover with mulch to winterize
