Planting instructions
  • Work the soil 12" deep, into a good loose condition. In the hole, incorporate a mixture of good compost, peat or organic materials and a handful of bone meal. Do not use manures. Place the lily bulb in the hole, pointed end-up, and cover with 3" to 5" of soil. Be sure to pack the soil well. Water well at the time of planting.
  • Water every 3 to 4 days for the first 2 weeks and then at least an inch of water a week.
  • It is recommended that you put a little mulch around the base of the plants.
  • If you cannot plant immediately after receiving these plants, leave in bag, please place them in a cool, dry, shady, location (your refrigerator vegetable drawer is best).
  • Lilies bloom best in full sun. Although full sun until mid-afternoon is optimal.
  • Do not plant in low wet spots.

Continuing care
  • If natural rainfall is less than 1" per week, provide supplemental watering in spring and summer to achieve about that much moisture weekly.

Winterizing instructions
  • In the coldest areas, a mulch of straw or pine needles provides added insurance against winter injury.

  • Lilies, lilies, lilies

The lily bulbs arrived in wonderful condition, each marked by name and bloom height which I found to be very helpful in laying out my garden design and planting the lilies. Can't wait to see them in bloom!
