Like to see spring coming after a long winter? Plant some Crocus in your garden and you'll be able to do just that. Often the earliest bulb to flower in the garden, the Crocus foretells the coming of spring with an array of colors that blossom in the bleak pre-spring months. Plant them beneath shrubs and trees or slip them into terrace containers. This heart plant lasts for years and multiplies easily. Best of all, you know spring is right around the corner.

What You Get

  • 75 Crocus bulbs
  • Planting and care guide
  • Manufacturer's 1-year limited warranty

Good to Know

  • The bulbs will arrive dormant and need to be planted this fall so they bloom in the spring. Your plants will not show any signs of growth until next spring after the ground and air warm up.

Features

Crocus Botanical Mix
  • Often the earliest bulb to flower in the garden, the Crocus foretells the coming of spring
  • This extra special mix of botanical types offers a whole host of colors of bloom, each enjoyed during those bleak pre-spring months
  • A fabulous plant for planting en mass beneath trees and shrubs or slipping between existing plants in your terrace containers
  • Lasts for many years and multiplies quickly and easily

Planting Instructions
  • Aim to plant your Iris bulbs in groups for more colorful, full displays
  • As a general rule, space bulbs by at least twice the bulb's own width apart, when growing in the open ground
  • Dig a hole wide and deep enough for your bulbs and remove any larger stones and weeds
  • In sandy and clay soils, mix in some organic matter to improve the dirt
  • As a guide, plant your bulbs at 3 times their own depth, for example, a 2" high bulb would be planted 4 to 6" below soil level. Place the bulbs into the hole with the shoot facing upwards. Replace the soil around the bulbs, and avoid the area so you don't disturb the bulbs.

Continuing Care
  • Don't water your bulbs much until you see shoots in the spring
  • When in active growth, water regularly to boost flowering performance

Feeding Instructions
  • As the blooms fade, snip them off to preserve the bulb's energy
  • Once the leaves start to die down, reduce watering again

Winterizing Instructions
  • Bulbs are hardy and will not need any special winter care
