Rare/obsolete coin set
  • Features coins that haven't been widely used in circulation since the 19th century
Large cent coin
  • Minted from 1793 to 1857, when it was officially replaced by the modern-size one-cent coin
  • Made of 100% copper with an original face value of 1/100 of a dollar
  • Contained twice as much copper as the half cent
  • All large cents were minted in Philadelphia
  • Obverse design was modified through the years
  • The final designs were called the Coronet Cents and featured the "Matron Head" designs that gave Liberty a slimmer, more youthful appearance
2-cent coin
  • One of the shortest-lived issues of United States coinage (1864 - 1873)
  • First coin to bear the motto "In God We Trust", due to increased religious sentiment during the Civil War crisis

3-cent coin
  • 3-cent "nickel" pieces were first issued in 1865 due to their silver counterpart (Trimes) being hoarded by the public
  • Minted until 1889

Hand-selected circulated condition from random years of mintage
  • Hand-picked from optimal examples of circulated coins
  • Randomly selected from coins minted between the 1820s and the 1850s

  • Helps protect coins' condition during storage and display

The ungraded coins were in very reasonable condition. I liked the set very much.

  • Large Cent Sets

I order 4 sets of these large cents, and the Three cents are the same DATES??? I think you need to check before I order any more, so I don't get the same DATES. Thank you!!!

  • Disappointed.

The condition of the 2 cent was horrible. It was very warn, could barely read in God We Trust. Also, five of the letters in United States of America were not visible. The large cent and 3 cent were okay. I'm disappointed in the quality. The hinged box is nice.

  • Below expected

The coin set was way overpriced. According to the industry standard pricing guideline (the grey sheet) these are price way above normal. You could walk into a coin shop and pay full boat retail and still walk out with 1/2 you money in your pocket.Don't bother with these common circulated coins.
