I had an ancient stainless steel steamer basket in this design for 30 years, but it wasn't as versatile as to size and scratched my pans if I wasn't very careful, and it could rust. This fits pans from just under 7 inches to large ones, three or four quart easily. The feet, "leaves" that expand, and the center holder are silicone and the capacity is huge. I steamed 1 1/2 pounds of veggies in this in my three quart saucepan with glass lid in MINUTES to perfection. What a fabulous design! I am so glad I ordered two!rapunzel606, FLWas this review helpful? 6 out of 6 found this review helpful

better than stainless steel version
The silicone coated handle for removal is genius! And it cleans up easier than the metal steamer I had prior. The only thing I don't like is how short the legs are! they are only 1 inch. When I use it in my pressure cooker the water comes inside the basket because it needs about 2 inches of water in the bottom. I like to cook corn pasta in the water while I steam Veggies and Fish in in steamer above. I still use in the pressure cooker but the food in the basket are touching the water. All it needs is some leg extensions!justleegee, FLWas this review helpful? 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Melted on Second Use
The legs are very short so when the water started to boil away they melted in a hurry. Gooey mess now in my pot. When there's at least 2" water in the pot it works fine.MC-NY, FLWas this review helpful? 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
