Overview & Details

Ice Ballet Asclepias "Support The Monarchs" - Set of 3 Roots
Asclepias, better known by its common name of "milk weed,"  is a herbaceous perennial that attracts monarch butterflies who use the plant as a source for nectar as well as a place to lay eggs. The resulting larvae (caterpillars) use the plant leaves as a food source. Plant asclepias en masse to create curb appeal and to help support threatened wild life. Asclepias is deer- and rabbit-resistant and will still flower while it produces seed-blooms all season. Starting with these sizable roots, instead of seed, helps ensure a full season of bloom. You can also grow it as a container plant. Asclepias Ice Ballet, commonly called swamp milkweed, features white large flower clusters atop lance-shaped leaves. It is an immensely popular native plant, easy to grow and an elegant choice that contrasts nicely against the greens in your garden for a cool/calm combination.
