Love the taste of my coffee

This is my first time using a coffee grinder but won't be my last. I love the smell the minute you open the bag of coffee. The only reason I cannot give a 5 star is because I keep finding moisture around my grinder. I only use the 1-4 cup mode. My other issue is that for the 3rd time I pushed start and forgot to attached the filter so grinded coffee spattered everywhere. This time I remembered as soon as I pressed start but that is too late. I would love some indication that filter is missing.
