  • Beautiful necklace!

This is a beautifully made necklace, lays nicely on your neck. Two cons it is fairly heavy and the closure is very difficult to manage. You have to slide the loop into the hook. But I love it and am glad I bought the matching bracelet and a longer necklace to wear with it. I hope to see more of this line in the future. i never saw an airing just happened upon it online.

  • Love this necklace

This is truly stunning. The craftsmanship of the paper beads paired with the glass beads is a lovely combination. I am so glad I purchased the matching bracelet... they make a lovely set. This necklace is not heavy. I purchased another necklace with moonstone beads and glass beads in a 3 strand black and white design. It was so heavy I returned it. I will wear this necklace for years as it is timeless.

  • Just as pictured

This is a beautiful necklace. Its light weight and sits perfectly on the neck and shoulders. I really didn't expect it to look as pictured or aired but was pleasantly surprised when it did.

A desire to empower women galvanizes Akola founder Brittany Merrill Underwood. It's a calling that's led the socialpreneur to Uganda and Dallas where Akola, which means "she works" in a Ugandan dialect, fulfills that mission. In both places, women create distinctive jewelry featuring surprising materials like recycled glass and handrolled paper beads. In doing so, they become agents of change in their families and communities. Be part of the movement. Redesign your wardrobe with jewelry that has the power to redesign lives.
