  • Cloisonné-Eggs were inspired by the original Faberge-Eggs
  • The Russian tsar Alexander III commissioned the first Faberge-Egg for his wife in 1885. She was so delighted, that from then on he gave his beloved a magnificent egg as a gift every Easter.
  • After his death his son Nikolaus II continued the tradition and, up until the collapse of his reign in 1917, commissioned another 40 eggs
  • These works of art each came with a surprise. Several miniatures such as eggs, trains or bouquets were embedded in them.
  • This coin has been created using an enamel technique combined with delicate patterns
