My daughter and I have thick 4c hair and it worked well on both of us. By far, the best flat iron I have owned and I have had some good brands. For the money, it should have come with a bag or case, a glove because this gets hot and there is not a lot of wiggle room for slips to cause a hand burn. A nice table rest would have been good to include. Think about the accessories if it alla nice touch to help use this and warranted for the money.
