Because these photos we taken outside, I wanted to use natural earth-tones. The dark green in the plaid and the rich brown leather paper reminded me of the pine trees in our yard so I knew that I wanted to use them together.

When your photos don’t exactly match your paper theme, it is important to pick up colors in the photos to make it all work together. Here I chose the blue that can be found in Mark’s snowsuit. As this page is about his class trip, he is the “star” of the page and I wanted to make him stand out. Busy Scrappers School Days Scrapbook Kit

The colors in the photo were my inspiration for the color scheme. The blues, greens and subtle shades of periwinkle in the snow can all be found in the papers used. The word “peace” was the first thought I had when I saw the photo. I knew I wanted to use it for the page title.

My inspiration for this page came from the powdery trees in the photo. I selected light blue papers and white sheet with a dusting of blue on it. I wanted to express the anticipation of a child looking for the “perfect” Christmas tree. I also used the words “Wish, Hope, Dream” through out the page.

My inspiration for this page came from all of the boxes of decorations that we use at our home during the holidays. Each box is filled with special items we treasure. I wanted to play on the words “Holiday Treasure” and use this darling photo.

The colors in the girls’ sweaters were my inspiration for this page. I wanted to use red and pink tones, but still make it look like Christmas. I used a journaling punch-out that contained red and green. This way, I was able to use the red and pink from the sweaters and the red and green from the punch-out. The key is to break up the colors with neutrals, such as black.

Makayla was born right before Halloween, so we made her a little princess in a fancy dress. She was so tiny, but a wonderful Halloween treat. Set of 2 Create a Calendar

I was inspired by the clean and simple elements of this photo. I chose to color block the background, using hues found in the photo.

The orange “Trick or Treat” ribbon inspired my journaling on this page. It’s reminiscent of the singsong way children ask for Halloween treats.

The dark and rich colors of the season inspired this fall leaves page. Notice the coordinating colors in the student’s dress, along with how the leaf theme was carried out in the embellishments.

Marie's costume was really cute, and I especially liked her pumpkin headband. This Fall, we also took a trip to Zion National Park that was wonderful and I wanted to comemorate it. Roses Scrapbooking Kit

The white snow on my son’s jacket created the color pallet for this page. The background blues made the snow stand out, and emphasized the winter theme. The tags on the side of the picture reinforce the winter theme: kids, fun, snow and snowmen. I used Junkitz buttonz, labelz and snapz to complete the page.

Claudia’s love for autumn brought out her gorgeous model smile. I decided to make the page look like weathered shingles. Family Clear Stamps

| This picture of my son and baby daughter was taken on a perfect Easter day. I love the shabby-chic yellow finish to the frame and the border that emphasizes their Easter outfits. Each piece in the layout creates a flow to the page's story. | |

Fall is my favorite time of the year. Early one morning, the final leaves were blowing off the trees. I could not resist grabbing my camera to snap a few shots. I chose the paper that complimented the colors and added just a few embellishments for texture and dimension. Outdoors Themed Embellishment Craft Kit

I loved the Easter dress that my daughter wore that year and wanted a page that highlighted that moment in time.

Hailey and Skylar always have fun playing in the water, especially on hot summer days. They always have smiles on their faces when they are splashing around.
