top plate won''t click in any more
/ , MO
I initially liked the product, but had occasional problems removing the plates and now the top one won't stay clicked in. It sounds like it clicks in, but doesn't. I threw it away and will be very leary of other items from Wolfgang Puck.
Lasted 4 months
/ , CA
The idea is good, but the product only lasted four months. With only using it about once a week, for two sandwiches. The one thing that I didn't like was it got way to hot and you had to really watch it closely or you would burn your bread.
THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!
/ , TN
I love love this Panini maker! The drip cup is not attached-so what, keep your eye on it. I have no problem with the plates staying in place. I do lay a paper towel at the back in case of a drip when I peek at the food. It is amazing how quickly it heats and is ready to go. I don't bother with putting the plates in the dishwater, just soak a few minutes and they are very easy clean up. Great, great product!!!!! p.s. I don't believe some of these complainers are for real!!!
Waste of Money
/ , FL
I've used my Panini maker twice and the drip cup is too small to catch grease from bacon. Also, to hot to touch when trying to empty it midway into cooking. I bought my Mom one also and she doesn't like hers either. The George Foreman was cheaper and probably a better grill for the quality and price. I paid way too much for two of these. What a waste of money. I wish I could return them both.
waste of good money
/ , GA
the top plate fell off after that 1st month of use! the 800 number for customer service was only available during working hours! no help ! last week-end i trashed the unit and concluded "you win some --you loose some". i lost and wasted my good money.
Excellent Product
Wolfgang Puck's bistro/panini duet is the best purchase. My steaks are perfect and my meals are flawless. I am now a great cook.
Top Plate Problem
The top plate on this grill is bad. I agree with all the others who have complained. After washing the plate in the dishwasher, it fails to fit securely on the grill. I've only used it only 4 times and now its now worthless. I'm an aircraft mechanic and nothing works to make this top plate fit. I will end up throwing this grill away. This is the only product I've ever purchased from HSN that is "NOT WORTH THE MONEY."
It''s so-so

I got my Panini Duet a couple of months ago. I've used it for everything from frying bacon to grilling chicken. Instead of the free-standing "grease catcher" I would have liked it to be attachable/removable from the unit. It's easy to move it just an inch and the grease spills all over the counter. Also, my button to remove the grill plate doesn't work.
Fantastic
/ , ME
I have several Paninis from WP. All are fantastic. I love the Duet because it's small enough for one sandwich, large enough for two steaks. It cooks the food to perfection. I don't have any of the problems that others are experiencing. Like all of the many WP products I own, this is superior in every way. It makes the BEST grilled cheese sandwich in the world!
safety issues

I too am having problem with the top plate falling off. I was cooking bacon when the top plate fell off just as I lifted the top to get the bacon. I got burned from the hot bacon grease splashing and of course the bacon burned because the plate was too hot to touch. Someone is going to get seriously hurt or burned from this one day. Please tell all of us how to remedy this problem short of throwing it in the trash. |
