WHAT A USELESS GRILL MACHINE / , MD   9/28/2007
I too wished I had read the reviews, for our panini machine was used only twice, to make simple sandwiches and sure enough, the upper plate after washing and drying would not latch in place. Also, the upper panel would be very selective at times about how it would sit horizontally; sometimes it was level and sometimes it was not. Had to be extremely careful when removing sandwiches as the unit was hotter than expected. Temperatures seemed too vague. Uneven cooking results ensued.

I wish I had read the reviews before I purchased this. I have burned myself several times as it seemed fine, but when I heated it up, the top plate became dislodged. I contacted the company, and they sent me a small nut and bolt for the bottom of the machine, but I have no idea what they were thinking. I am glad I am not the only one having the problem, but they need to do a better job of standing behind their products. This is my first Wolfgang Puck purchase, and it will be my last.

I bought this in April and have used it many times for everything from grilled cheese sandwiches to grilling Kielbasa. It's been easy to use and easy to clean. I did find I couldn't use regualar sandwich bread with it but that's ok. A few days ago I found that my upper heating plate won't click in anymore. I tried and tried. I'm calling them now as I have a warranty and even got the extended plan. I would buy this again but can see how having a temperature control would help.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL PRODUCT.I HAVE NOT PROBLEMS WITH THE PLATE NOR OVERHEATING OR GETTING TOO HOT. i WOULD BUY THIS AGAIN.

OK. It's the top plate. I have used this ONCE! The top plate simply won't slip back into place. I've had similar grills and NO problems with the grills. I know how to do this; I simply CAN'T with Puck's product. I ignored the reviews, but won't make that mistake again.

This burns the bread before it melts the cheese. Dont buy it. Buy one with a temp control on it. So you have to eat a cold inside and hot bread. I have a toaster i can do that with!

I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED in this product. There is no heat control..it burns everything..if I had known I would never have purchased it. It's going back in todays mail.

This unit simply gets way too hot. There should be a way to control the level of heat, particularly when you're cooking sandwiches. My top plate also is starting to fail. I'm beginning to think buying products off of t.v. is generally problematic simply because once your 30 days is up, you're stuck. At least if you purchase from a store, you can take it back beyond 30 days.

I do veggies, cheese sandwiches, any kind of meat or vegetable or bread will fit in there because of the hinged lid. Great for those with little counter space. Easily cleaned and stored. Yes it does get RED HOT when you use it but hey I can live with that. Also I am glad I didn't read the reviews about the plates not fitting before I bought it. It might have scared me off but I don't have any trouble with those plates. They clean easily and lock in to the device without a problem.
