I am so disappointed. I was very excited about this, and even ordered two, one for a present. Like the last few reviewers, the top plate won't stay in place. I initially thought maybe it was just that I'd gotten a lemon, but I tried the second one and same problem! At least now I know that it is a product flaw and not me! The instructions have a number to call if you have issues with the top plate, but I can't see that helping. I pains me to send this back, but probably have no choice.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE! / , NC   4/25/2007
Received this product yesterday and have used it 2x -- made a hot ham & cheese using a hamburger bun (bun pressed flat, which was expected) and grilled a frozen chicken tenderloin to perfection in <10 minutes! Preheats fast and is easy to clean. Read the directions and note that there is a top and bottom plate that are not interchangeable. Will update my rating if product performance changes. Again...EXCELLENT product for the price!

I myself have the same problem that everyone esle his having with the top plate not staying on- sending mine back today Its a shame because it cooked great- cooked 2 frozen chicken breasts in 15 min- I'm going to try another- and see what happends-

Panini Duet Poor / , CA   4/25/2007
The Panini Duet came with the top plate off. It would not click in. My husband looked at it and we decided to return it. I read some of the reviews and other people have had the same problem. Also, I noticed it was made in China. I was not pleased when I thought I was getting something that Wolfgang Puck had such great faith in.

I just received this item and it is going back tomorrow. The top plate will not stay in place and I have been working on it for 1/2 hour. I am afraid to turn it on and have the hot plate fall off! I am sticking with linens and jewelry...no more appliances for me!

Wish I knew where the drip tray was supposed to go!!!!!!!! Mine just arrived so hopefully I will figure it out by trial and error.

Top Plate won''t stay in!    4/24/2007
I did not want to give this a fair rating because it is the cutest little thing, but the top plate won't stay in and when the lid is lowered it falls out. I haven't even used it yet and won't because of the danger. I've talked to WP c/s and a very nice lady said to exchange it with HSN, but I'm not sure if I want to do that. I may just keep using my jumbo one, but it won't be as convenient! Very disappointed.

love love this item...the price can't be beat and so easy to use in this fast paced world......easy to use,easy clean-up,wolfgang has out done himself with this item...want it for a wedding gift...thank-you,thank-you...
