Love this little grill, but YES what a pain. The top plate keeps popping off. Glad to see I wasn't the only one out thousands that got the defect. I will keep it because I used it and it does really cook good. You just have to be in slow motion when lowering the handle to shut the grill. C'mon Puck, can we get a maybe a really good deal on te next product for the inconvience of the panini plate defect. Love the grill just anoying.

Save yourself a return trip to UPS! Did not have the plate problem that some people had, but it is very poor quality! Very disapointed! The thing starts smoking as soon as I turn it on. Definetly going back.

The drip tray is in the proper place in front, all the grease from tthe bacon still comes out the back, as the other reviewer stated. It became very smokey too.

As I was taking the Panini out of the box the top plate fell off. So I tried clipping it back in again and again. And each time the plate fell out. What a waste of my time and money. Back it went the next day. I'm so glad I have the first big panini maker that has different clips to hold the plates in, it works great. Plus it has an off and on switch that makes it safer to use.

I've had the same problem with the top falling off. I do not have an engineering degree but am above intelligence and the top is locked on when I begin. As soon as top is lowered onto food off it pops! And back it goes! Should have read the reviews before ordering.

Purchased as the today special. One for me and one for my mother. I use it all the time. I love that clean up is so easy and quick,I grill everything. Sorry for those who are having problems with plates. I guess its the luck of the draw. Mine work fine. Mom hasn't complained either. Wish there was an off switch and drip tray wasn't external but hey the food turns out really good (especially the bacon)Good luck to everyone.

I love this product! Have had no problems with plates at all. To fasten the plates securely, I just hit the plate quickly after placing it into the clips and it pops into place. It cooks very well. The meat turns out so tender and juicy. The flavor is excellent. Best burger I have ever cooked at home. The clean up is so easy. Place plates in soapy water and it darn near cleans itself. I am very pleased with purchase. A excellent product at a excellent price.

I'm sorry to read the hateful reviews some posted. I guess of the thousands sold, there are a few defective models. Mine works great and I love it. LOVE IT! Perfect size to keep out on the counter for quick meals. Easy clean up too. Again, I LOVE IT!

As soon as I took it out of the box,the top grill plate would not stay on. I am insulted to see that HSN has the nerve to put so called directions online. There are too many of us with the same complaints for it to be a consumer issue. Instead of trying to tell us, the consumer, how to install grill plates HSN should be going back to the manufacturer to figure out how to make this product better. Needless to say the grill went back immediately!!! |
