I retired my cast iron skillet!
/ , AR
7/18/2008
I bought this set more than a year ago. I love it and have bought two more pieces .. a saucepan and the 5-quart casserole pan. I gave the skillet what I consider to be the "acid" test. I make a wonderful cornbread, baked in the oven in my mother's well-seasoned, 50-year-old, cast iron skillet to get that lovely, crispy, brown crust. I had never found another skillet that would give me that crust and cook evenly ... until GreenPan! I have now retired Ol' Faithful.
After a while non-stick goes away

These were great for the first couple of uses, now they are useless. Everything sticks, egg, meat, you name it. I even followed the instructions to season them and that doesn't work either! Todd is a wonderful chef, but should distance himself from these poor excuses for cookware. I'll stick with my Wolfgang Puck set which I've had for 7 years and it's still going strong!
Very Disapointed, Sticks and burns

I read the instructions and did everyting it said and it still sticks and burns. I had black in bottom of pan I could not get out. Very disapointed. Have had to throw away two of the three pans. I will not order any more.

I bought a set of these pans, and was very disappointed because they scratch and stain. I used teflon coated utensils, too. Don't waste your money on these pots and pans!
Love these pans!

I ordered this set as a test to see if they would really perform as advertised. I have to say that I am totally pleased with the performance of the pans, and the ability to cook without oils and other lubricants. I am, however, concerned with other reviews that mention seasoning or curing the pans. I did not receive any type of instructions with the set and am concerned that if I don't prepare them properly, they won't continue to perform. Can anyone advise how I could get the instructions?
totally NOT non-stick

I was so excited to get my green pans and they were non-stick as seen on TV for about a month, and I comptetly followed all instructions on cleaning and there seems to be a coating that forms and turns black and you can not remove it. I had to thow away two pieces already. Do not waste your money!! And I have to say I enjoy watching Todd English but I have to mute Joy Mangano she is so annoying!!

The grilling pan is okay ,however the first time I use the frying pan, food stuck to it , I am going back to hard anozied which is better. I am going to toss frying pan in trash. Does not do what advertised.
Not really nonstick and easy to clean

I seasoned the pans as instructed but when I fry an egg, it is a hit or a miss. Sometimes it stick even with a little oil. Other times it does not. I inadvertendly burned bacon on the pan and could not get the black stain even using a scouring pad with cleanser with bleach. I do like the looks of the pan and the weight of it. The steamer insert is also great. I probably won't buy anymore pieces.
Please add more to Open Stock

Love this cookware and want to buy more pieces that I see in other cookware sets (1 1/2 qt saucepan and 9 1/2 in frypan) as Open Stock. Don't understand why others are having so much trouble with food sticking and having to soak/scrub their cookware. I simply wait for my pans to cool then rinse with water and season when necessary. I have had perfect results everyday that I have used this cookware. Also NO chipping or scratching of the exterior. |
