Great Help
/ , NY
7/21/2008
I have had such a problem finding a way to store bread, potatoes, onions etc. in the hot weather. I would like to keep them in the garage which remains cool but need protection from chipmonks which will come in if they smell food. These are great but please make more of the 12X6X5 inch boxes available. They are wonderful. Thanks, Debbie.
Love it

I don't understand the negative comments. Maybe they aren't using them the right way. I have had no problems with them and have just order the a 2nd set. The smaller boxes are good for cherry tomotoes, blueberries, etc. For the ones who left a negative reply, you have to read the instructions.
Very disappointed

I purchased the Debbie Meyer Green Boxes from HSN and was very disappointed. I stored my salad in one of the containers and within two days it was brown. I was very upset. Wish I could return all of the boxes, but HSN will tell me that I am too late!! Don't buy these, just get Rubbermaid or other products on the market. They are so much better and they do not make my veggies or fruits go bad. Totally a rip off and a waste of my precious money.
Not worth the money

I'm a loyal green bag user and was expecting the same quality from the boxes.W/i days my produce browned or molded. I always made sure my produce was dry before putting in the boxes but to no avail, they all went bad. The box does nothing to address natural condensation. There are other produce friendly boxes on the market I use everyday from that brand we all know R---maid, and they work great!
Two large containers worth it

The 2 large containers are worth the price. The smaller containers are pretty much worthless both in size and in shape. There are none of the smaller containers that fit cucumbers, ears of corn, long carrots, and zucchinis very well, or a head of lettuce. You end up with two large containers and all sorts of useless small containers. I keep bananas fresh for at least 10 days, I have never had them in the house longer. Yes, there is condensation with the bananas at least, but not smelly.
Good Green Boxes

With the high price of fruits and vegetables these boxes keep my produce fresh much longer...also baked goods, cereal and bread. I must line the boxes with a paper towel on both bottom and top to catch condensation when stored in fridg. I wipe the lids as needed. Strawberries are best kept in these boxes - not impressed with how it keeps bananas. It would be nice to purchase more open stock pieces. The smaller sizes are not much use. You should consider lowering the price.
Too Small

The product does keep produce longer. However, this set is not made for anyone who has a family. Most items hold only enough for one person.
SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! DON''T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!

I purchased Debbie Meyer's Green Boxes. They did NOT work any better than ordinary storage bowls. Vegetables and fruit are not kept any fresher than if I use a Zip Lock bag! I used the large container for bananas and it was full of condensation. Also they smelled bad! Now you can buy containers made by a well known brand name at the store and there is no shipping charge. I will not buy her bags or containers again.
Longer lasting vegetables!

My husband and I love these containers. We own a small restaurant in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, and we do have our slow times. We love to serve the best quality fresh foods, and these containers have really made the job easier and affordable. Mushrooms keep for a very long time. Just remember to either wipe the container dry every few days, or transfer the veggies to a clean dry container.
good product if used properly

yes, they smell, the lids are hard to take off but they work well and the food does not taste different. Tomatoes, lemons, bell peppers, etc. last a very long time. Salad needs a paper towel on the bottom to absorb moisture. I purchased a 2nd set after liking the 1st so much. |
