Great bang for the buck! / , NJ   11/7/2007
Ok. I've never used an embroidery machine or thread cartridge before and well I was slightly discouraged after the 1st use and the 2nd. I have to get used to using the thread cartridge. Other than this little problem. I have been embroidering my mornings out. It's great!

Hello, This machine has a great price. It is easy to use. Included all the accessories you need to get started. The only option it does not have the USB connection but you can still connect to a laptop or PC via the re writable card. The only difference with this machine and the 1000 machine is the software. With the 1000 most likely you will receive software to make custom embroidery. With this one you can still enjoy down loading premade images with half the cost of other models.

save for a better Brother Machine    10/29/2007
I had this machine and the thread breaking was a big issue. I did use good thread. There is no way to manually thread this machine. I ended up reutrning this one and getting a Brother 1200 with I love. I think this is not brother's best so do your homework and save up for a better choice. I am so glad I did.

Thread cartridge not a good thing. / , MN   10/26/2007
I only had my machine for four months when the machine broke. Removing the cartridge with each change of thread seems to be hard on the machine parts. The thread that I used I purchased from a Brother dealer for use on this machine. Because I don't live near a Brother dealer I had to ship the machine for reapir and it was gone for ten weeks. The PED Basic is the best part of this package. I was happy with the machine until problems started.

It works great & easy to learn. I had bought this machine to monogram. I was monogramming with in 10 minutes of setting the machine up. I love it. The cutting features are my favorite! Everyone in family has come by to see my new toy & they all fall in love with it. This is a great buy. I searched online for several months to find the best buy for my money. And the flex pay option makes it so easy to pay for. Thanks HSN for a great offer on a great product!

I Rec. my machine a couple of weeks ago, and was surprised how easy it is to use. I don't sew alot so I wasn't sure if I could use and understand it. The instructions are easy to understandand in no time I was dowm loading free embroidery patterns from the internet. I'm very impressed with how easy it was to embroider with this machine. Threading the machine is great also.

If you have a chance to buy this machine DO IT! I bought this machine a few weeks ago and just got to use the embrodery part last night. Not only does it sew great (better than any machine I own and I have 3 others) but the embrodery is easy to use and great quality. And the machine it self is of high quality. This was a great suprise to get this much machine for the price. All I can tell you is you won't be disappointed!

I'm so very pleased with this machine! I also own a Singer Futura and let me tell you...this Brother with Basic PED is SO MUCH EASIER to use and the stitch quality is incredible!!! It's also very quiet compared to my other machines. My sister saw mine and ordered one, too. She also has now ordered one for her daughter. Seriously, don't hesitate, this is a wonderful sewing/embroidery machine worth the price and then some!

The stitch quality and features are amazing. I am impressed with this Brother product. I did a lot of research before purchasing this machine and found that the price was the best I could find, especially coupled with all the extra items in the package. I also purchased at the same time, the machine embroidery starter set from HSN. Another fantastic value. Thank You again, HSN, for this opportunity to own a embroidery/sewing machine of outstanding quality for a very affordable price!
