I really expected when I ordered this for my teenage daughter that it would be much better quality for the price. It had a big white spot on tne back of her black guitar and it has ... (see full review) loose strings. When I called HSN, they stated I would have to just learn to tune it myself. I have bought may guitars and I can assure you they did not have loose guitar strings!!! Also it feels like cheap plastic and almost like a toy guitar. I was told I could just send it back but I can tell you I would have to drive almost 40 miles to the UPS location so it is just sitting here not being used!!!!! I would also have to pay someone to tune it for me!!!
I took lessons as a kid and just like Keith explains, I didn't stick with it. I bought it for something to do when I retire in September. I'm now 50 years old so hopefully my finge ... (see full review)rs can move the ways his does. I've only watched 1 lesson and I'm exited to begin to learn his way. Only draw back is I didn't receive the cord chart poster with the package, but I gues I can print one online.
I purchased this because I wanted to get my daughter a guitar, and this was purple. I get that I should have read the reviews first, but I didn't. I thought I could trust the quali ... (see full review)ty HSN generally offers. I have not had problems with any other product, but I should not have purchased this guitar. My daughter opened it at Christmas last year and was really pleased. However, she couldn't play it; some of the notes sounded very "buzzy." I should have returned it then, but I didn't. It's currently in the repair shop. The neck has never, ever been right, and in order to fix it, I'm paying another $95.00. So far. It may cost more. I can afford the repair, I'm just disgusted that it's necessary. This purchase has been full of "should'haves," but I would advise staying away from it and going to your local guitar/music store.
I really, really love this guitar. I've bought other starter guitars in the past and tried to learn guitar, but always ending up either returning the guitar or stashing it in the ... (see full review)closet then giving it away because I couldn't make a single chord. This Randy Jackson guitar is different. The action is so easy that I'm really making all kinds of chords and really making progress. Of course, YouTube videos help a lot too--I didn't have those before. The DVDs that come with it don't teach very much, but they might be helpful if you've never touched a guitar before to get you started because they tell you how to tune the guitar and use the amp. But there's a bazillion free guitar lessons on YouTube, so don't worry about that. The amp that comes with the guitar seems pretty decent, and I like the built-in tuner on the guitar and the record function. It does help to record yourself when you're practicing to play back to hear how you really sound. I'm not crazy about the sparkles on the
Some of the keys didn't work as well as the others. Construction overall is sturdy. I'm not returning it since it is for my 18 month old grandson who's going to beat on it anyway ... (see full review).
