I am a knitter and I crochet a lot. I also sew and quilt, and I also scrapbook a bit. Love to do these things in my spare time. This set of needles would be an excellent choice ... (see full review)for beginners also. Very sturdy and offer a variety of sizes.
I had a lot of fun making this hat and mitten set. The colors are so pretty, and the yarn is wonderfully soft! I would say you have to know something about knitting, but a determ ... (see full review)ined beginner could do this with some reference work. The only error I found was under the abbreviations. For kfb is says to knit into front, then back, then front of next stitch. It should read knit into front, then back of next stitch. Otherwise, the stitch count will be off when increasing. I hope Deborah comes back with more yarn kits!
Maybe you can figure out how you go from 90 stitches to 120 stitches in one round with a pattern of sc in one sc, ch1, skip one sc, sc in next stitch. However I do this, I end up w ... (see full review)ith the same number of stitches with which I started. I do love the yarn, however, so I am giving this kit a two.
Good concept, but fittings are not great. Pegs are difficult to put in and fall out easily. Not many patterns included (I think about 4). I bought this for the weaving aspect o ... (see full review)f the product. Overall, I'm not happy with this product, but I'll try to give it another go. I hate to return things!
This machine was unusable for me. I joined the Incredible Sweater Machine Group on Yahoo Groups, and even with all of their help and suggestions, I was unable to use this machine. ... (see full review) The manufacturer has made changes to this machine over the years that have made it unreliable. Apparently machines work fine and others just don't work because of shoddy manufacturing. I had the opportunity to try but not buy one of the earlier versions of this knitting machine literally a couple of decades ago, and had some success with that one, and I wish I had been able to buy it at that time because apparently the best made and most usable machines were produced prior to 1992. I suggest perhaps trying to find a "vintage" model produced prior to 1992. That is why I may do.
But do your research. You have thirty days to experience this machine yourself, in your home, so hopefully you will have more success than I did.
I ran out of yarn before I could do the mittens. For some reason The cowl took up most of the 4 balls of yarn. Has anyone work on this yet? I just was just wondering if anyone e ... (see full review)lse has this problem.
I love this, I needed something I could carry or have near me on hand to hold my yarn and knitting looms, this is on the side of my black leather sofa, it looks wonderful! It even ... (see full review)has a zipper compartment that was a surprise, I store my scissors and needles in the secret pocket! I love it" modern and plenty of storage space for all my knitting projects!
am working on 2 of these, blue and tan, both are working up very easily and so pretty! loving the softness of the yarn and the pretty pattern...I'm an experienced knitter and have ... (see full review) no problem following the instructions, the yarn is of the finest quality, sorta like a cashmere silky feel with the look of chunky, now going to get the other two colors...gonna make as heirloom gifts for family...thanks Debra and HSN!
I am an advanced knitter, and was really excited to see knitting on HSN. But Deborah, come on, you are selling these kits to people who aren't knitters, and you want them to cast on ... (see full review) 353 stitches, and work with that many on a decidedly confusing pattern? This would have been best served if worked the OTHER direction, from small end to small end, and with another easier pattern. I took the 3 balls of yarn and made socks instead.
I'm a intermediate knitter. I love making socks with 5 double pointed needles, this looked very, very easy and that it was. My issue was the yarn had so many knots where the yarn w ... (see full review)as cut and just tied together. I could see if this happened once, but it happened at least 5 times. Not happy.
It also did not come with a crochet hook for making the button as well. I also had to readjust the length of the gusset, for that was just way too long for the pattern.
I purchase your sock yarn from our local stores all the time and have never had a problem, but with this kit I must say, "I was not pleased."
This is so much fun, and easy to use, with the 2 DVD, this is very easy. I will be ordering the the larger one and the smaller. Excellent product.
Thank you HSN
I've been a knitter for most of my life, learning when I was a little girl and, there are still some patterns that I don't know to do. This book is great. It teaches many differe ... First, the bright colors of this kit are great! However, the description says from kid to medium adult but when I got it, its for toddlers only. I really was looking for the smal ... (see full review)l adult size. And the small amount of yarn that you get for the price of this kit is not worth it. Should be about half the price.
have purchased this before it is a great product for making my special baby afghans. I love the sparkle in the yarn it adds to the beauty of the blanket
The directions in the manual or booklet are well defined. I am a beginner crocheter. The words used in the book are to general. Not well defined. They are like hunting for a needle ... (see full review)in a hay stack so to speak. Would not recommend the book to a beginner. The crochet hooks are metal and I really like them as well as the other items encluded in the kit.
I bought these after reading a review that the Boye aluminum hooks manufactured in the USA were a better quality than the ones manufactured in China.
These are advertised as mad ... (see full review)e in the USA here on HSN
Within the description of the item, so I ordered them.
When I received them, on the package, MADE IN CHINA......printed on the back!
I could have bought them cheaper at wallymart!
Shame on HSN for not verifying their info.
False advertising to those of us that want made in the USA products.

I bought this machine, and when I received it parts were missing, the instruction book looked as if someone soaked it in something wet.

I bought this with the intention of making pompom scarves. I like the variety of sizes it includes. Takes a little patience to get the hang of it, but after that it is quite easy ... (see full review) to use. Key is not wrapping the yarn too tightly. For the low clearance price...it is a good buy.
waste of money mine is going back this week end, HSN should not sell these products because I have wasted my money S/H on this product if I can't trust HSN to carry good product I ... (see full review)guess I'll shop on QVC
Only flaw is that aluminum crochet hoos catch less than plastic, as the latter have mold lines. Will keep because it is good when working with dark yarns.
