I have not tried my loom yet. However I have read over the instruction. With a basic knowledge of knitting I found that this was simple to understand. By basic knowledge of knittin ... (see full review)g I could knit a scarf and that is it. The pattern that comes with the loom calls for a medium worst yarn, size 4, and the loom is for medium worst yarn such has a nice wool. It is not for fine sock yarn, but they do make a finer gauge loom just like this one for finer yarn. I am excited to try the loom after I purchase the right size yarn. Now I can crochet anything and do have a good knowledge of gauges of yarn, stitches etc...
This loom makes my knitting look like an experienced knitter rather than the beginner I am. So easily the stitches are even and the gauge remains constant. The accompanying DVDs ... (see full review)explain the "how-to" very throughly. I have even visited their website and found wonderful patterns to create my next projects. After completing the current scarf and hat I am planning on making a jacket (the pattern is included!). I would never have dreamed of making such a large project but I am confident it will look spectacular with the knitting board!
I have used knitting looms for a few years now. I find that it's easier to get stitches to look more uniform on looms especially for a beginner that tends to be a perfectionist.

I love this loom! The pegs are wider than the original knitting board to accommodate the chunky yarns you want to use for afghans. It allows me to avoid meticulously counting rows in order to piece together knit strips before you get a finished project. With this loom you can start your project and knit until you have the size you want!
I totally recommend this for anyone!
I really enjoyed this project. I am just a begiiner and this project allowed me to learn some basic stitching. I did have to purchase a beginner's Knitting book to understand how ... (see full review) to read the pattern and execute the stitches. (The included directions available under the "More Info" button were not enough to help such a newbie as myself.)
The other reviewer who mentioned the yarn having multiple breaks tied together and/or "welded" (i.e. heated) is not an isolated problem. I had a similar challenge. And also, she has an additional point about crochett instructions to create the button but no hook included.
Beautiful yarn, easy to work. I was unaware that each item would be billed separately including the shipping. Even with buying additional items and saving on shipping for each item ... (see full review) I purchased at $6.95 to $11.95, the order total was $62.60, the shipping w as still $14.45, plus tax $6.23, made
tax and shipping an additional third of the total cost. I would not order items like this again.
I love the Deborah Norville sock yarns.. They are so soft to the touch. However, I absolutely hate this shawl pattern. There are parts of it that make no sense. When you follow the ... (see full review) pattern as stated, the rows just seem to get longer and longer than the cast on of 353 stitiches. It seems that they should stay in some kind of alignment. It would be nice to have a phone number to call to find out if I am doing something wrong or if there is are pattern errors in it.
I have started and restarted this project at least 20 times. It is driving me nuts!!!
I have done some knitting and made quite a few items reading from a pattern, this pattern I didn't understand at all I guess I shouldn't have thaught I could do it I finally decide ... (see full review)d I would just make the other slouch hat I've made many times then I had trouble with the wool it was splitting and breaking apart when I was casting the stitches on so can't use that either is a shame the colors were very pretty.

I make necklaces with this tool. Using leftover yarn you can make strands of tubes that become a sort of necklace/scarf. This is my second one as I gave my first one away. I am bus ... (see full review)y making holiday gifts as my sister loved my necklace and wanted one herself
The yarn is soft and cuddly BUT in every skein there were breaks that happened during the manufacturing process. They had been fused together like a heating tool had fused the end ... (see full review)s togeter leaving a hard edge. I tried crocheting these edges in but when you ran your had over the work the hard edge would grab and scratch, it certaintly could tear a baby's or older persons skin. I had to cut and tie together the end, being fleece could not do a Russian join. One of the skeins had 5 breaks in it the other skeins had at least 3 in each. Save your money.
A bit of a challenge to get it started, but once it gets going, it works great! Fun to use & much faster than the spool knitter thingey! I need to practice on getting it started mu ... (see full review)ch better & it will become easier as I get more familiar with starting it. Makes real nice, even cords! It would be nice if it came with it's own little bag or something to keep everything all together, I'm afraid of loosing the little Darning Needle that comes with it. Instructions are very clear & simple, even some instructions to make a fastener for on a sweater, and some decorative items to make for embellishments. My reason for 4 Stars is because it is a little tricky to get started, and it doesn't come with a little bag or something to keep it & the accessories all together in, easy to loose the needle and the weight clamp; however, it is a very handy little tool & I love it!!!
I am a beginner at knitting. I wanted a soft yarn suitable for a baby blanket for my new grand-daughter. I picked this out due to I love fleece. It's wonderful. It is so easy to w ... The Ultimate Knitting Machine is a good concept, but the workmanship of the product is not good. Despite trying to make this product work for a three or four days, I still could n ... (see full review)ot get it to work. The carriage is flimsy and will not knit a row without catching on something. I could only knit a couple of rows at a time before I had to stop.
The manufacturer needs to address how the pieces of this product, such as the needles, board, and carriage can come together to create a smooth, well-working machine. It is just too much hassle to use this machine. It is easier to knit a product by hand. I left a message on the manufacturer's toll-free number, but never got a response. I do not recommend this product for either beginning knitters or experienced knitters. .
I love the concept of the Knitting and Weaving Loom with 2 Balls of Yarn. If Martha Stewart had a team of testers for her products I would say sign me up. She has wonderful produ ... (see full review)cts and ideas that I would love to "play" with. So this would be that feed back if I was a tester. The concept of the looms works wonderfully but the pegs do not all fit the same. Some goes in their slots easily and stays some you have to fight with to keep your project from falling apart. I would suggest a better way of locking the pegs in place. With the few projects I have worked with in learning to weave and knit this is a minor problem. I would recommend this product just be aware you might have to fight a peg or two but it is not a biggy. As a person that learns better with demonstration as oppose to written instruction it would be great to have a detail video of all the different "stitches" made available either with this product or on Ms. Stewart's web site. Once you have the basic stitches down o
I am a knitter and I crochet a lot. I also sew and quilt, and I also scrapbook a bit. Love to do these things in my spare time. This set of needles would be an excellent choice ... (see full review)for beginners also. Very sturdy and offer a variety of sizes.
I've been a knitter for most of my life, learning when I was a little girl and, there are still some patterns that I don't know to do. This book is great. It teaches many differe ... (see full review)nt types of patterns and how they are supposed to look when done. It's easy to understand too. Great gift for a beginner or a seasoned knitter such as myself.
This is a beautiful bag with lovely colors. There is a
large wooden painted bead on the one handle for an
added detail. I'm sorry that Laurel is no longer with us, but her art ... (see full review)work was one of a kind and will have a long life. I liked this particular design because one dog reminds me of our Bichon Frise and another dog reminds me of our Golden Retriever. It's a heavy canvas type material and the handles appear to be strong for carrying heavier items. Note that the design is only on one side.
I found these needles to be great. I am teaching a group of seniors to knit and these needles are excellent because the yarn does not slide like the metal one. The seniors that was ... (see full review) about to give up was able to stick with the project and they are very happy. I thank you. Hopefully you will have these needles on discount soon so that we can buy more.
I work with my hands a lot, knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, etc. and felt these did what they said they would. My hand didn't feel as tired and I felt the support helped. ... (see full review)Good deal.
I bought this machine, and when I received it parts were missing, the instruction book looked as if someone soaked it in something wet.

I bought this with the intention of making pompom scarves. I like the variety of sizes it includes. Takes a little patience to get the hang of it, but after that it is quite easy ... (see full review) to use. Key is not wrapping the yarn too tightly. For the low clearance price...it is a good buy.
