proform fitness tips    Stay motivated with Kristie Brooks
Follow these simple steps to stay motivated throughout the year.
1. Create a vision
Establish what you are working towards and how you envision your life. Go beyond just saying “I want to lose 15 pounds” to thinking about how fitness can truly enhance your life.
2. Be specific
Make realistic, measurable goals and write them down. Include small daily goals, such as reducing fat intake and writing in a journal, as well as big-picture goals such as target weight, body fat, etc.
3. Make a commitment
Commit to a healthy lifestyle, including daily fitness activities and healthy eating.
4. Set weekly goals
Map out some easy health goals at the beginning of every week. These goals can be as simple as limiting ice cream to Saturdays. Stay focused by posting your goals where you can see them every day.
5. Schedule your exercise
Try to schedule your exercise routines at the same time(s) every day/week. Keep your workout appointment as you would a doctor’s appointment — it’s just as important!
6. Get moving
Exercise seven days a week, starting with 20 minutes of daily activity. If you like, split it into 10 minutes in the morning and another 10 in the evening.
7. When all else fails
If you’re struggling, make a list of three small steps to take every day. The steps must be easy and doable, such as eating a vegetable with every meal. If things start to derail, you can still take these minimum steps to help you move towards your goal.
