This item is designed to lock tightly to ensure your spices do not spill. To open, hold the clear bottom section with one hand and twist the top part of the mill a quarter turn to the left with your other hand. You may need to use additional force to open it initially, but the mill should loosen over time. For additional instructions, click on the More Info tab to the right.

Purchased to give as Christmas gofts but found that they were hard to operate myself. I hope that those who received them have an easider time using them thena I did just checking them out.
