Not a true slow cooker... SoIndianaGuy, IN Rating

This is a rice cooker, not a true slow cooker, and it shouldn't be billed as such on air. It works by sensing how much moisture is left in the cooker. With rice, it can tell when it's done and kicks over to warm. With soup, beans, oatmeal, etc., it just keeps going on high till it doesn't sense any water vapor. You have to keep an eye on it and switch it to warm yourself if you don't want all the liquid cooked out. It's going to Goodwill & I'm getting another HSN chef's.

Daily Usage... Alexaz, AZ Rating

At first I was a bit skeptical whether I really needed a Multi Cooker, however, I am so glad I did purchase it. I use it almost every day, cooking rice, steaming lots and lots of veggies, not to mention cooking pasta. The food has been perfect every time and the clean up is a breeze.

GREAT PERFORMANCE... NuJoy, NC Rating

So far i have used my multi cooker to make Mexican rice, steam crab legs, and steam spaghetti squash. I'm very pleased with the capacity, veratility, ease in preparation, and clean up. I can confidently set the cooker and turn my attention to other tasks. Most importantly, though, is how well food taste cooked inside Thermalon coated cookware. I am a huge fan of the Greenpan brand and will use no other nonstick product now.

Big Mistake... Buck1907, IN Rating

This was sent back and was a big mistake. I bought a smaller replacement and not happy with it. Should have kept it. It worked great the few times I used it. I may buy it again if it's offered on sale.

PFOA is a chemical that is used in the manufacturing of traditional PTFE-based nonstick cookware coatings and other products. It is not present in finished cookware products, and there are no health risks from PFOA in cookware. However, because PFOA has been found in the environment, companies have committed to the Environmental Protection Agency to work toward eliminating facility emissions and product content of PFOA by the year 2015. Thermolon™ is made without PFOA. It is made to be eco-friendly for our environment.
PTFE is a chemical found in traditional nonstick coatings. It can begin to degrade at temperatures over 500º, which is why the instructions on traditional nonstick pans generally advise to use them only on low and medium heat. You can use Thermolon™ on low and medium heat like traditional nonstick, but unlike traditional nonstick coated pans, GreenPan with Thermolon™ is also made to be used at high heat (above 500º) for something you would normally use stainless steel or cast iron cookware for. Now you can do it all with one pan!
