Had the "Big Daddy" but filtering the oil usually with cheese cloth was a pain. Ended up dumping quite a bit of oil. This unit rocks! Makes perfect fried anything, automatically filters the oil into a self contained unit which fits nicely in the fridge. Easy to clean and bottom line works as advertised! My first HSN purchase by the way! Customer service was friendly and quick! Will buy again.

I bought this fryer and have used it about 4 or 5 times. After each time, I drain the oil and clean the whole unit in the dishwasher. I haven't used it for a couple days but this morning I woke up to see a pool of oil under my fryer. I thought someone must have bumped into it or moved it so I took it apart, wiped it clean and left it. A few minutes later I went back to check that it wasn't leaking and sure enough there is another pool of oil. Not sure what to do now.

The last deep fryer I owned was in 1982. This is light years away from the bad fryers of the past. This is really easy to use and eased my fears of frying. I got a great combo oil from my home improvement store and fired it up. Made onion rings in about 3-4 minutes and look forward to making more things with this lovely fryer! Truly a great buy so glad I tuned in for Emeril and the great buys on HSN. Highly recommend this fryer !

Finally, an easy to clean fryer that actually works great!! I love that the basket is not as deep as a traditional fryer. Talk about non-greasy crispy food, wow! We don't fry often but we wanted a unit that would heat up the way it should and fry right.

I only used it 3 times but we love it clean up its easy works great The only reason i gave it a 4 star because it is so big takes a lot of room on mu counters and it dont fit in a cabinet
