Not really for the hot tub. The bubbles can push the light away from its magnetic fastner and then it just floats in the water. Magnet is pretty strong. Works fairly well overall. The remote is a nice idea.

Not real bright, but just enough to see side to side and bottom on a 16'x48" pool. Remote could be a little stronger as I have to point it at the light very close to it in order for it to work. I think over all it's a nice pair of lights for the price.
