Big Bam Burgers
Ingredients
1 1/4 pounds USDA prime grade ground beef
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish puree
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 (2-ounce) slices of Havarti or American cheese
4 onion rolls, split in half
2 tablespoons butter,at room temperature
Directions
  1. While the grill is heating, combine the beef, horseradish, garlic, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl and mix gently but thoroughly.
  2. Divide the mixture into four balls of equal size and form into thin, firm round patties about 2/3-inch thick and 4 inches wide.
  3. Place the patties on the grill plates, two on each side, and cook the burgers for 3 to 4 minutes on each side for medium.
  4. When you turn the burgers to the second side, place the cheese slices on top of the burgers so that the cheese melts while the second side is cooking.
  5. Remove the burgers from the grill.
  6. Spread each half of the rolls with the butter.
  7. Place the rolls on the grill and cook for about 30 seconds to lightly toast the bread.
  8. Serve the burgers on the lightly toasted buns and garnish with condiments according to taste.
