Big Bam Burgers
Ingredients
1 1/4 pounds USDA prime grade ground beef
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish puree
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 (2-ounce) slices of Havarti or American cheese
4 onion rolls, split in half
2 tablespoons butter,at room temperature
Directions
- While the grill is heating, combine the beef, horseradish, garlic, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl and mix gently but thoroughly.
- Divide the mixture into four balls of equal size and form into thin, firm round patties about 2/3-inch thick and 4 inches wide.
- Place the patties on the grill plates, two on each side, and cook the burgers for 3 to 4 minutes on each side for medium.
- When you turn the burgers to the second side, place the cheese slices on top of the burgers so that the cheese melts while the second side is cooking.
- Remove the burgers from the grill.
- Spread each half of the rolls with the butter.
- Place the rolls on the grill and cook for about 30 seconds to lightly toast the bread.
- Serve the burgers on the lightly toasted buns and garnish with condiments according to taste.
