| In accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, a notice was recently sent to customers who purchased the CyberHome LDV 702 Portable DVD Player. Argus Electronics, Inc., the manufacturer of your portable DVD player, has discovered a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety in the car adaptor provided with the CyberHome LDV 702 Portable DVD Player.
Argus has learned that the car adapter that was included with your CyberHome LDV 702 portable DVD player may become very hot when used with the rechargeable battery in place. The car adapter you received was designed as an alternative power source, and should not be used with the battery or as a battery charger. Using the car adapter with the battery can cause the adapter to overheat and possibly melt, creating a risk of fire if flammable material is nearby.
While you can continue to safely enjoy your CyberHome LDV 702 portable DVD player, please immediately discontinue use of the car adapter you received with the player, and return it to Argus via the postage paid envelope you received. If the DVD player was purchased as a gift, or has been given to someone else to use, please alert him/her to this notice or call us at the number below.
If you have not already, you should shortly be receiving a free, upgraded replacement adapter and a supplemental instruction sheet regarding the proper use of the car adapter. To express our appreciation for your cooperation in returning the original adapter, upon receipt of your original adapter, Argus will send you a complimentary headphone splitter for your portable DVD player, which allows two people to listen to the DVD player through headphones simultaneously!
