Your Cricut machine can cut papers of varying thickness—from lightweight papers like vellum to heavy papers like cardstock. Because of this, you may need to adjust the speed and/or pressure of the cut as well as the blade depth. Please refer to your user manual for step-by-step instructions on how to adjust the blade depth, speed and cutting pressure. When finished making adjustments, please test the adjusted settings on a piece of scrap paper before beginning your project.
bought this as a birthday present when they offered a flex payment.... birthday was two months later - she didn't want the small one so I called to exchange it - HSN would NOT work with me at all. Package was never even opened - not happy with this kind of service and I could have purchased the exact same thing for under one hundred dollars elsewhere...... BEWARE of the return policy - it is NOT user friendly.
Cutter is just not cutting it...literally....

I had purchased a cricut a couple years ago, but went in on it with my sister. She wasn't able to afford it so we had to return it. When I saw what a deal it was on HSN I decided to repurchase it, this time on my own. I used it only a few times; I made a name sign for my children's bedroom using the 5" with the shadow, I made flash cards 1-30 for my son, and I wrote my daughter and my niece's name out. Now it wont cut. I thought it odd, but bought extra blades at my local Michael's. IT still wont cut through the paper and I'm using the deepest cut possible. I'm in the process of calling HSN and Cricut directly. Hopefully this is a one time thing...The cricut I had prior had gone through a lot more uses and I didn't have this problem. Here's hoping. IF this does get resolved I'll continue my review but as for now this is the best I'll give.
very entertaining for my kids...

This is good to keep my kids busy but the matting and the blade doesnt last long.We enjoyed it alot and just wish the blade and matt would be better more.
