Get your hands on some of the rarest of all the state quarters with the 2000 United States Mint Proof State Quarter Set. It includes clad Proof quarters from Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire and Virginia that are in their original United States government packaging.
2000 United States Mint Proof State Quarter Set Includes:
- Massachusetts state quarter - this first quarter of the year 2000 features the statue of "The Minuteman" superimposed over an outline of Massachusetts, a star designating the state capital, Boston, and the words "The Bay State"
- Maryland state quarter - highlights the striking dome of the Maryland Statehouse. Leaf clusters from the official state tree, the White Oak and the nickname The Old Line State complete the design.
- South Carolina state quarter - shows key state symbols - a Palmetto Tree, the Carolina Wren and the Yellow Jessamine. An outline of the state, the nickname The Palmetto State and a tar indicating the capital, Columbia form the quarter's background.
- New Hampshire state quarter - honors one of the state's most unique natural attractions, "The Old Man of the Mountain." The state motto, "Live free or die," and nine stars, signifying that New Hampshire was the ninth state to ratify the Constitution, complete the design.
- Virginia state quarter - honors Jamestown, Virginia, our nation's first permanent English settlement. Jamestown turns 400 years old in 2007. The design features the three ships, Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery that brought the first English settlers to Jamestown.
