This set is handsome, and impressive. The only thing keeping me from giving it a full Five Star rating, is that some of the coins appear over-graded. As an intermediate collector I’ve encountered problems with ANACS coins having grades I’ve questioned before. And this set is no different. All of the Denver coins were outstanding. But the Philly coins had some problems. The Yosemite & Mount Hood Quarters had nicks along the edges, putting their SP69 grade in question. Also, the Sacagawea, Millard Fillmore & Abe Lincoln Dollars all appear to have scuff marks on their surfaces. If these were Morgan or Ike Dollars I’d call them Bag Marks, but supposedly these coins have never seen a bag. And unfortunately, you can’t swap out individual coins on a numbered set. So the more advanced Nit Picking collectors may want to reconsider. Still, it is a nice looking set that presents itself well in a beautiful Oak chest. So my advice is to check the coins if you buy it, and decide for your self.
This is a great set of all 28 coins in satin finish.I thought the US Mint stopped making satin finish. In SP-69 satin finish they are fantastic.Get them while you can.Mine arrived today.
