• Obverse - features the image of George Washington as seen on the obverse of the 50 state quarter coins
• District of Columbia Quarter - reverse features internationally celebrated composer and musician Duke Ellington, seated at a grand piano and the inscriptions: "DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA," "DUKE ELLINGTON" and "JUSTICE FOR ALL," the District's motto
• Puerto Rico Quarter - reverse features the sentry box and the walls of San Juan and a hibiscus flower and the inscriptions, "PUERTO RICO" and "Isla del Encanto" (Isle of Enchantment)
• Guam Quarter - reverse features an outline of the Island of Guam with a flying proa (native sail boat) and latte stone and the inscriptions, "GUAM" and "Guahan I Tano ManChamorro", which means "Guam - Land of the Chamorro."
• American Samoa Quarter - reverse features the ceremonial ava bowl, whisk and staff in the foreground with a coconut tree on the shore in the background and the inscriptions, "AMERICAN SAMOA" and "SAMOA MUAMUA LE ATUA," which means "Samoa, God is First."
• U.S. Virgin Islands Quarter - reverse features an outline of the three major islands, the yellow breast quit (the official bird), the yellow cedar or yellow elder, the official flower; and a Tyre Palm Tree and the inscriptions, "U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS" and "United in Pride and Hope"
• Northern Marianas Islands Quarter - reverse features a shore scene with a limestone latte (supporting column of ancient indigenous Chamorro structures), a canoe, 2 white fairy tern birds, and a traditional native head dressing and the inscriptions "NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS" 
• Proof condition - struck at least twice on highly polished coin blanks to bring out the mirrored background and high-relief images; unlike regular coins, proof coins are not released to into circulation 
• Made of 91.67% copper and 8.33% nickel
• Protected in a government lens 
• Produced by the San Francisco Mint
