• The Gold Eagle is a genuine legal tender gold bullion coin struck by the United States Mint. It has been made each year since 1986 in a limited edition and is now one of the most popular gold bullion coins.
• Obverse - features the legendary Saint-Gaudens design that first appeared on $20 gold coins from 1907-1933. The design shows Lady Liberty striding forward. She is holding a torch of knowledge and an olive branch of peace and the rising sun in the background symbolizes the hope brought forward with each new day. The U.S. Capitol building can be seen at about the 7 o'clock position and the design is surrounded by 50 stars to represent the 50 states
• Reverse - shows a family of eagles
