Consider a set of these 2008 coins as a gift for a new born baby born in the year 2008. Or as a Christmas gift or Birthday gift for a child born in 2008. The young eagles on the reverse just seems to me a perfect fit for such gifting suggestions. I bought a set for my grand daughter who was born in December of 2008.

Proof condition - struck at least twice on highly polished coin blanks to bring out the mirrored background and high-relief images
Silver dollar measures approx. 1.56" in diameter; struck in approx. 1 oz. of .900 pure silver
Half dollar measures approx. 1.2" in diameter; clad (core and outer layer are made of a mix of metals)
