- Reverse: features an American eagle in flight, as well as 17 stars symbolizing the 17 states in the Union at the time of Sacagawea's journey with the Lewis and Clark Expedition
- 2008 is the final year of the original Sacagawea design; beginning in 2009, the reverse will change to honor other important Native American contributions
- These coins are among some of the rarest Sacagawea P&D coins because they were only available from the 2008 limited edition mint sets
