2007 Proof Jamestown Silver Dollar

Honor America's first settlers and their legacy with a 2007 Proof Jamestown Silver Dollar. Battling disease, famine and ongoing attacks from neighboring Algonquin Indians, the brave Jamestown settlers endured many hardships before eventually enjoying peace and prosperity. This 90% silver dollar commemorates the 400th anniversary of the settlement and the first permanent English settlers in what would eventually become the United States.
 
2007 Proof Jamestown Silver Dollar Features:

• Obverse - depicts the "Three Faces of Diversity" of Jamestown including an African, Captain John Smith and an American Indian; designed by Donna Weaver. Includes the inscriptions, "Liberty", "In God We Trust", "Founding Jamestown" and "1607 - 2007"
• Reverse - depicts the three ships—the Susan Constant, Godspeed and the Discovery—that brought the first settlers to Jamestown; designed by Susan Gamble. Includes the inscriptions, "United States of America," "One Dollar," "E Pluribus Unum" and the mint mark "P"
• Proof condition - struck at least twice on highly polished coin blanks to bring out the mirrored background and high-relief image 
• Produced by Philadelphia Mint
• Measures approx. 38.1mm (1-1/2") in diameter
• Weighs approx. 26.73g (.944 oz.)
• Contains 90% silver
• Encapsulated
• Original government packaging, including certificate of authenticity
