Buyer Beware... GarryB, WA Rating 8/2/2010
I have rim nicks on 1 coin, minor scratches on 3, and a weird discolorstion on 1 coin. After searching local shops and seeing what was avaliable I feel these are overpriced somewhat, maybe by 40% or so.

Horrible Presentation box !... CHERRIES, PA Rating 7/28/2010
I received this set with (2) 2008 P Mint coins. HSN customer service had this remedied in less than one week. (thanks HSN) I think very cheap, cardboard box, with punch holes for the coins, detracts from this item. I've bought many coins through HSN and agree with the other reviewer that a decent box should have come with these coins. I hope the coins are worth what Mike Mezack claims. Michael Anthony

Sacagawea dollars... rocket244, IN Rating 5/17/2010
Great set but sent two of the same coin, hsn said they would fix problem and I belive they will, but seems to be taking a little longer than I thought it would. Again would be nice to see a wooden presentation box since Sacagawea dollars are the third most collected coins.

Honor the legend of our nation's Native Americans with a special set of 2005-2009 P- and D-Mint Satin-Finish Sacagawea Dollars. Glistening in their golden, brilliant uncirculated condition, these beautiful dollar coins have a gorgeous satin or burnished finish. The Sacagawea dollar is the first circulating coin to feature an identifiable Native American—Sacagawea—who accompanied the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The Sacagawea series ended in 2008 and was followed by the Native American series, which features a different reverse each year.

2005-2009 P- and D-Mint Satin-Finish Sacagawea Dollar Set Includes:

  • 2005 Sacagawea satin-finish P-mint dollar
  • 2005 Sacagawea satin-finish D-mint dollar
  • 2006 Sacagawea satin-finish P-mint dollar
  • 2006 Sacagawea satin-finish D-mint dollar
  • 2007 Sacagawea satin-finish P-mint dollar
  • 2007 Sacagawea satin-finish D-mint dollar
  • 2008 Sacagawea satin-finish P-mint dollar
  • 2008 Sacagawea satin-finish D-mint dollar
  • 2009 Native American satin-finish P-mint dollar
  • 2009 Native American satin-finish D-mint dollar
  • Display box

Product Features:

  • Obverse: depicts Sacagawea with her baby, Jean Baptiste, on her back
  • Reverse (2005-2008): features an American eagle in flight, as well as 17 stars symbolizing the 17 states in the Union at the time of Sacagawea's journey with the Lewis and Clark Expedition
  • Reverse (2009): Native American planting seeds; this reverse varies each year
  • Brilliant uncirculated - never issued into circulation
  • Satin Finish (SP) - different and distinctive from regular coins because the dies are sandblasted with a fine mixture of sand and glass beads; called a burnished finish by the United States Mint; also known as Specimen State (SP)
  • Individually encapsulated - helps protect each coin
  • Display box - measures approx. 3/4"H" x 8-1/4"W x 5-3/4"L
  • Produced by the Philadelphia and Denver Mints

Note: Recently, the United States Mint announced that, starting in 2010, it will no longer issue special satin finish collector coins in the Official United States Mint Set. This means the first year in the Native American program will also be the only year a satin-finish coin will be released

  • All coin items considered for return must be in their original condition as sold. Seals and cases contribute to the value of the coin and currency collectibles and must remain intact and unbroken.
