• In 2005, the United States Mint issued two low-mintage commemorative silver dollars—one to mark the 230th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps and the other to honor Chief Justice John Marshall. Both coins sold out at the United States Mint. In 2005, the United States Mint created this 13-coin proof coin set,which includes both of these commemorative silver dollars in stunning proof quality.
• Proof sets - coins issued by the United States Mint for collectors since 1936 and not intended for circulation; each in original government packaging with the predominant coins of that year. Only 50,000 of these sets were produced by the United States Mint
• Proof condition - struck on highly polished planchets, with highly polished dies; gives the coins a stunning mirror finish
