The costly 2001S coin in set  / Anonymous, FL 7/29/2007
If one is going to spend money on coins, it's best to spend it the right way for future years to come. I just got One 2000 - 2007 Complete Golden Sacagawea Dollar Set, 24 total coins in Dansco album - Each year has three coins (S-mint, D-mint, and P-mint) for 8 years so far. I got all 24 Sacagawea dollars in one album. All for under $350. From a private dealer. I know, I collect coins to. The un-slabbed PF65 2001S runs about $165, the 2000P MS65 boldly detailed tail feathers $500.

With its perfect PR70 condition and beautiful deep cameo finish, this 2001 Sacagawea Dollar is a fitting tribute to a woman who was truly an American pioneer.

2001 Sacagawea Dollar Features:

  • Historical coin - the Sacagawea Golden Dollar was first minted in 2000 and is the first circulating coin to feature an identifiable Native American. Sacagawea was the Native American guide who accompanied the Lewis & Clark Expedition.
  • Beautiful design - the obverse depicts Sacagawea with her baby, Jean Baptiste, on her back and the reverse of the coin features an American eagle in flight, as well as 17 stars. This unusual number of stars symbolizes the 17 states in the Union at the time of Sacagawea's journey with the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
  • Graded PR70 - the highest grade possible
  • Proof - in addition to regular coins, the United States Mint also makes a limited number of Proof coins each year that undergo a specialized minting process, which begins by manually feeding burnished silver coin blanks into presses fitted with special dies. The coin is struck multiple times so the softly frosted, yet detailed images seem to float above a mirror-like field.
  • Deep Cameo - deeply frosted devices and lettering that contrast with the fields producing extra sharp details
  • San Francisco mint
  • Graded and slabbed by ICG
  • Encapsulated in clear acrylic
  • Weighs approx. .26 oz.
  • Measures approx. 1.03" in diameter

Note: All coin items considered for return must be in their original condition as sold. Seals and cases contribute to the value of the coin and currency collectibles and must remain intact and unbroken. This applies but is not limited to: grading cases, Mint and Proof cases and packages, bag seals, original government sealed packaging and/or any other special packaging or containers.
