- Full set of Sacagawea Dollars (2000 - 2008) - first circulating coin to feature an identifiable Native American. Sacagawea was the Native American guide who accompanied the Lewis & Clark Expedition; obverse depicts Sacagawea with her baby, Jean Baptiste, on her back; reverse features an American eagle in flight, as well as 17 stars. This unusual number of stars symbolizes the 17 states in the Union at the time of Sacagawea's journey with the Lewis and Clark Expedition. First minted in 2000 and only issued into general circulation in 2000 and 2001. Sacagawea dollars were then made available through uncirculated rolls, mint sets and proof sets
- 2009 Native American dollar - beginning in 2009, the United States Mint is producing these coins featuring designs celebrating the important contributions made by Indian tribes and individual Native Americans to the history and development of the United States. The name of this program is the Native American (Sacagawea) Dollar Coin program; obverse design remains the central figure of the "Sacagawea" design first produced in 2000 and contains the inscriptions Liberty and In God We Trust; Sacagawea was the Native American guide who accompanied the Lewis and Clark Expedition; this design depicts Sacagawea with her baby, Jean Baptiste, on her back. 2009 reverse design depicts a Native American woman planting seeds in a field of corn, beans and squash; changes each year to celebrate an important contribution of Indian tribes or individual Native Americans; contains the inscriptions $1 and United States of America
