Bring a cherished new addition to your collection with this complete set of
Eisenhower Dollars. The set includes 32 different Eisenhower
Dollars from the years 1971-1978, representing every year they were minted. An
elegant, custom cherry wood finish presentation case (17L" x 12"W x 2"H) houses
the coins. The case features a crushed blue velvety interior with custom
slots for each coin. The coins are protected in individual acrylic air-tight
containers. They also come with a Certificate of Authenticity. The brilliant 21
uncirculated coins and 11 proof coins are from all three U.S. Mints.
The
silver issues were made only for collectors and were never released to the
general public. Bicentennial coins and all 10 special silver coins were struck
exclusively for collectors. The silver coins were available only in special mint
sets and Proof sets from the U.S. Mints. Each coin is approx. 1-1/2" in
diameter. Silver coins are made of 40% silver and all the rest are made of
copper and nickel.
The Eisenhower Dollar was America's last large size
Dollar coin ever minted and is a treasured piece of American history. The
obverse of the coin features Dwight D. Eisenhower, the WWII hero and President
of the US from 1953-1961. The reverse of the coins is an adaptation of the
official Apollo 11 mission patch showing an American eagle landing on the moon
(to symbolize the "Eagle" Lunar Module which brought the first men to the moon
in 1969).
The obverse of the 1976 coins have a dual date "1776 - 1976"
to make them the first and only dual dated circulating Dollar Coin. The reverse
features the moon and Liberty Bell to symbolize 200 years of US history from the
Declaration of Independence to the manned moon landing. The 21 Uncirculated
coins you receive are:
1971-Philadelphia, 1971-Denver and 1971-San Francisco (Silver)

Eishenhower Wooden Box Collection / Jim, NJ7/21/2006 I bought this set and am very happy with the condition. Except for one coin with a fingerprint on it (I have requested a replacement), all the coins had a great appearance. The uncirculated were the best I have seen. I previously bought a set of Eisenhower dollars at a cheaper price in a different box that was suppose to have an eagle on the inside lid (was missing) and returned them. Condition was nowhere as good as this set. I returned them. Although, this set was expensive, it was worth it for its condition.I have two other Eisenhower sets bought elsewhere at a cheaper price but this HSN set is far supperior to them.
disappointed / Don, NY1/19/2006 Shipment of product was very quick. Very disappointed with the condition of the coins. Lots of scratches. Nice to have the set all complete though if thats all you wanted. Ordered the Dansco set to see if the coins might be better. They had even more scratches. Sent both sets back.
DISAPPOINTMENT / lonnie, IA1/12/2006 When i purchased my Eisenhower Silver Dollar set, I was excepting to get what was shown on the program, however my set did not come with the Eagle on the inside lid and the holderm was broken. Per my discussion with HSN customer service, I was to receive a new holder over a month ago! I was impressed with the quality of my coins and in the long run I was glad I purchased it.
highly disappointed ! / Herb, MO1/10/2006 I bought two sets of the 32 Eisenhower Dollars. I received them today and upon inspection the proofs were OK but the rest of the coins were AU or less at best. I know grading is subjective but it was obvious that some of these coins were NOT uncirculated. Some looked as if they had been cleaned and had nicks and scratches. The guarantee in the box said "guaranteed to be BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) or Proof quality". This was not the case. I have returned both sets. I found many sets advertised the same "32 coins BU/proofs" for, on the average $150.00 less, Except for the case, which is nice, but not worth $150.00.
I Must Have Gotten Lucky!! / William, OK8/23/2005 Today I received the Eisenhower 32 Coin Set!! All in all I must say that this is a most impressive set to behold!! (once you get everything back in its place after its bout with the shipping beast know as UPS!!)I will say again that for once I must have gotten lucky, because the majority of the coins in this set are in about uncirculated (AU) to uncirculated condition. It is certainly more impressive than the set HSN uses in the ad on their web site. I plan to take my time and inspect it much further as I have 30 days to decide if I'll keep it. However, it would be difficult to turn this set away. When you open that wooden box lid (which arrive in perfect condition) and see all those BIG dollar coins... WOW!!! Would I recommend this set?? If you want a complete set because you've always wanted one.. then yes! If you're looking for a complete set that will be worth tons some day.. than no! this set will never be that.
