Welcome to my April 2009 blog for HSN! April 2009? Where did the time go? This month marks my official 14th Anniversary with HSN. When I first took my place on the set at the HSN – back then, the Home Shopping Club – studios in 1995, I never imagined I would be still on the job 14 years later! I am very lucky to love what I do. I am passionate about beauty products, and I am dedicated to you – the women and men who have made Serious Skin Care the success it is today.

Many of you have been with Serious Skin Care for as long as I have ... like my own experience with the line – Serious Skin Care has grown and evolved with you. My skin care needs are vastly different as a 40-year-old mother of 3 than they were when I was 26 and single. What’s amazing is that Serious Skin Care’s vast product assortment offers the right regimen for any stage of life. In March, we spoke to many HSN customers LIVE during the shows. Several callers identified themselves as in their 60s and 70s ... yet, we had several more callers state their ages as 25, 29, 32, etc ... even in the posts on our past blogs, every stage of life – and every possible skin care need – is represented. A girl needs to be prepared – you all see how excited I get during my shows!

I ordered from Serious Skin Care first with Hydrapixel. And then in July, 2009; I ordered the A & C for AM/PM. I am 54 hears of age. I like it with the exception of that when I try to put on the Hydrapixel or a primer after the serum and moisturizer, the moisturizer peels off. Am I doing something wrong? I would like some information regarding this problem as to whether I should return the kit or not? Thank you! Best regards!

Hi Jennifer, I started with Serious Skin Care when you first started with HSN. Back then i used the Glycolic Cleanser and the A-force and the 2 million IUs cream daily--and every couple months i would also use the 6-week Mini Peel towelettes. Now-- I use the Glycolic Cleanser and the Super Creamerum. I miss the 6-week Mini Peel. It worked great and was less harsh on my skin than the c-extreme results or A-peel. Could you please bring it back? Thanks!

I have two requests for you Jennifer. First, please made a B-Glow for the body. I am using the face cream on my arms and it is a great while I am self-tanning. It has that hint of red that makes it look I really did just get some sun. Second, PLEASE (Please) bring back the self tanner (in the lotion form that came out tinted so you could see it) that SSC used to make. I used to love that tanner and would use it in conjunction with the body polish.

Looked at the reviews for Glycolic cleanser by itself or in kits and a lot of comments re change in formula, smells chemical or like glue, different consistency etc. from new and old customers. I need some and have never noticed this in the one I have now or in years past. It is the only cleanser I can use! Has it changed in formula as per recent reviews?

I have been using the Skin Candescense... for two months...and IT WORKS...VERY WELL ...good staff big change in my appearence of course for the best...I ll be more then happy to e-mail my pictures ... my skin was a severe case of hyperpicmentation...ugly brown spots (no any more)I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR ABOUT A 2 bottle deal to get better price on it...o maybe see this product in the kits the you sell

Jennifer: I have been using your products and love them. I hate to say anything negative, however, can you please use a different manufacturer for your pumps, they usually break half way through the bottle. Dear Jen, I have been a loyal customer for approx 13 years. I would like to know if and when you will be selling your products in Canada? I have been ordering your products for the last 2 years through the US to my friend's relatives and then wait patiently for them to come to Toronto. Unfortunately, my friend's brother went through carry-on and I lost my A Cleanser. Your loyal fan.

Please consider airplane approved 2oz. travel sizes for the glycolic cleanser! This is my favorite cleanser and while I can transfer some to a generic travel container, it would be easier to just toss a 2oz size in my carry-on and go.

Jennifer, I have tried hundreds of products, by far your products work for me. I have never had a break out or any skin problems from your products. The last kit I brought from you was a book and you opened the book for the products ( I thought it was a very cute idea). Any way, I just wanted to drop you a short note to thank you for your products. I just turned 50 and people say or think I am about 36 or 37. How do you get these kits without going broke and 3/4 times a years? Thank you

Dear Jennifer, I have read numerous negative reviews about your Ice Age Wrinkle Cream but I seriously love this product!! However i do not use it the way it is recommended on the box. I first apply a light moisturizer and then after it is dry I apply a pea size amount of the Ice Age and I follow with my makeup. The look is flawless. I have read the reviews about how this product does not work but perhaps the application is the problem!! Please DO NOT discontinue this product!! Anna V Age 44

I have very fair skin and I'm having trouble with self tanners not working real well on me especially on my face, I sometimes get that orange look. Having just turned 53 and still searching for the perfect skin care product - your Replicate and Renew seems to be that product. Recently purchased the cream - works great, but also rec'd the concentrate in a combo with Creamerum, I have to say these two together are wonderful,can really feel my skin firming during the day. Also seeing a reduction in the nose-to-mouth lines, which has been my problem area for about the past year. Thank you for these products.

Love all your products, but now that I'm over 50 I am seeing some sagging. I have tried the reverse lift but I still have extremely oily skin so I must be careful on using it on a regular basis as it is too rich for my skin. Please make a product for us older oily skin people! Thank you! and I hope your products keep coming!

I have been using SSC for about over 6 yrs now, I am 31 and am blessed with good aging genes. I LOVE everything, but I miss the a line classics, the a cream and the serum, they made my skin sooooo soft. I also love the clear kits for when i get a break out. I use a little bit of everything, and love to order your surprise boxes!! I get to try new stuff and find new staples for my medicine cabinet. I use other lines now and then, but always go back to SSC and always have mymainstays of the A line

Jennifer OH I wish you could have seen my skin prior to using Replicate 7 Renew Face Cream & then the Serium! Wow what a differance. I thought it was just me but I just saw some folks I have not see for some time & they wanted to know if I had a face lift!!! . My son said I look younger & my daughter noticed a differance rite away! You have a wonderful product & I love it! When will you have a Replicate & Renew Eye Serum or Cream? Jennifer: It's so hard to pinpoint a favorite product, I've been with Serious Skin Care since you've been with Serious Skin Care! My first kit was a skin aid kit in the little red zip bag (which I STILL have and use!) and your gycolic cleanser and dry lo sold me for life. I grew with the line as it evolved - & as much as I love the c line overall C Extreme Results has got to be IT! Oh!! - & the OO Omega Serum is also another product with me 24/7! Jennifer, I have been a SSC customer for 3 years and one of the reason I started using your product was a comment I heard on air concerning you & husbands support for our military troops being a US Navy Veteran you won my heart. Jennifer I love your products. I need help. I am going through menaoause and my face is so oily that my makeup will not stay on for more than 2 hours. I've tried mineral as well as liquid foundation. I've tired moisturizers and primers with no luck. I even wear my mineral makeup alone and still no luck. What do you suggest. Also...I drink a lot water and eat healthy Thanks

Everytime a new product comes out on the market, you better believe I buy it to see if the myth will become a reality. I have so many products in my home, it looks like I am employed as a product tester. If someone runs out something, I have a spare. No mascara, including the new ones touting sky high lengths, comes close to The Mascara. I don't know what's in your mascara but my lashes are amazing, long and thick. Co Q 10 absorbs quickly. The skin candenscence is another hit. The Olive oil is the best lotion I have ever tried, my handles feel supple, my feet stay feeling soft the next morning they are still very soft. The squalene believe or not made my nails grow! I am glad she came up with a serum for the plant stem cells. My oily face did not do good with the cream but the serum is a hit! It is so nice to enjoy all of these products for such reasonable prices. It is a blessing, thanks Jennifer!

The 1st time I ever watched HSN I saw this crazy lasy you selling these low priced skin care products that was suppose to do so much for your skin. Well I gave it a chance with my first kit I thought what could 69 dollars hurt me I spend that in eye cream - (I have OCD about my skin and have since I was 16) Well I was hooked not only did I get hooked I bought my mom, daughter, and husband addicted to various lines of your skin care. Jennifer: I have tried serveral fascial & body treatments. Thus far your line of products saved my face. I use your Ester C line. Not only have I notice a difference in my skin, but my family and friends have too. I have one question for you: I have ance. It is not as bad as it use to be, thanks to the Ester C line. I have a sulfer allergy. Therefore, I can not use a lot of the acne products. What can you reserach for the ladies who have a sulfer allery.

Hi Jennifer, Happy 14th anniversary.I've been using serious skin care for some yrs now.I'm 35 yrs old and I still get acne break outs.I've had problem skin since I was 14.I like the continuously clear line and it helped clear up my face.I've also used the A-defience kit and also the glycolic products.My favorites are the glycolic cleanser,the pumpkin scrub,and the glycolic mask.thank you for the wonderful products.

My most wonderful SSC moment was when I had just began Menopause and saw myself aging at a rapid rate. The Estrogen Patch was making my hair fall out, I was at Keys with friends of my husband and their wives. Happy Anniversary SSC! I've been using your products for the last ten years and then some. It's hard to choose my favorites because I love them all. Jennifer, I just wanted to tell you how wonderful your product is. I can't imagine being without it. My husband isn't to happy with me over it, he says I have enough to open a store.I will never forget the day when about 6 boxes were delivered. Jennifer There are no words that can describe how greatful I am for the Glycolic Cleanser. I am 34 and have tried every acne product on the market. My mother ordered a kit last year that contained this cleanser. After trying the product she decided that it was too strong for her and recomended that I try it. Finally a product that has cleared up my adult acne. I was hooked !!! I have since expanded my collection to include the Replicate and Renew Cream and I cannot wait to try the serum.

I have all the kits..C - for when I feel I need a glow, A- for the days I need to feel I am really cleaning the slate, Olive oil after a rough week or in the winter, B for the bronzing effect and creamerum for the youthful daily glow. 6 years and counting. I am recovering from surgery and the one thing I CAN control is lifting my spirits with facials and my body butters from SSC. LOVE!

Thank you for the results my skin have experienced for the past 8 years. My husband has found the Super Creamerum as the solution for his razor burn and skin bumps. He now says his skin looks better at 60 than it did at 40! He is now willing to try the C-Extreme which I think is fantastic!

Happy Anniversary! I got hooked on Serious Skin Care Glycolic Cleanser many years ago and could not believe what a miracle Dry Lo was. Over the years my skin has changed, but still, there is no greater cleanser than SSC Glycolic Cleanser. Now my daughters use Dry Lo more often than I, but I now find Rulinea my new miracle. I'm glad SSC keeps developing new products for my changing needs, however, never stop making Glycolic Cleanser.

I love the glycolic cleanser and the C-cleanser, and the C-resurfacer. In the summer, the copper is the perfect lightweight product that doesn't make my skin too oily. The Rulinea-FX handcream for aging skin is the only hand cream my 10 year old will use on her sensitive skin. My coworker and I enjoy trading products that we receive in kits. I am delighted with the replicate and renew cream. I am 40 and my friends have noticed what a difference in my complexion. My friends have commented how luminous, dewy, and bright my skin appears. I started using Serious Skin Care five years ago when I was home six weeks with a back injury. I started watching HSN at times and tuned into SSC because of Sylvester Stallone's wife was selling it. The surgeon sent me to see a plastice surgeon to find out about reconstruction. The plastic surgeon asked me my age, and I told him 49. He said, oh, I never would have guessed that. YIKES! I just came back to SSC. My first purchase was one of the first Kit n Kabbodles. I received a assortment of products and loved them all. So then I went on to purchase the gycolic cleanser and then finally the C series. After using SSC for years I decided to save money and by drug store product. I tried alot of them and was never happy, and they realy didn't save me any money. 2 months ago I purchased a new SSC kit with the night trio and I am back in love with SSC.I will never leave again!

What I love about SSC is the variety of product lines designed for different skin types. I use a combination of SSC product lines and love that Jennifer and her team understand that we all have different needs. For example: Phyto pumpkin scrub is the only scrub I've ever used that did not irritate my face.

The most basic of Jennifer's products is the Glycolic cleanser (in the light blue tube). Over the years (I'm 44), I have defected to other cleansers, but always, I return to the Glycolic Cleanser. It's the best of the best, in my opinion. A recent favorite of mine is the Replicate and Renew cream in the green jar. Oh it smells so clean and green, and it works wonders too. I love Jennifer's presentations, and her products are by far the best, and believe me, I have tried them all!!

Hi Jen and CeCe being just retired from the Marine Corp saying thank you really doesn't do just but Thank you for making your products and the research,I have been with you since day one with really bad acne,had three beautiful children just like you,have gotton everyone on your products my skin is flawless and even mailed products over to Iraq when my husband was stationed there. Now I know that my daughters and son will not have to go through what we did CeCe too because of Serious Skin Care.

My Serious Skin Care story is about the best cleanser in the world - your Glycolic Cleanser. About 10 years ago I tried your cleanser as I have outbreaks of adult acne. I heard your story when you introduced this cleanser and tried it. It is still my favorite! I never felt models or beautiful women could discuss problem skin unless they actually had it. My teenage nephew started breaking out and I gave him the cleanser and he loves it, too. Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary SSC! I have used SSC since Lesa and Jennifer were presenting and have loved enjoying all the new products as they have come out. I started with the Glycolic and the acne treatments. The birth of A Copper was great, as is the A-Line---and please bring back the Emu Aloe Also, I love how people think my sister is the older one and she is 5yrs younger than I am. HA! I am so tired of spending money on other company's big promises, big dollars, and non-existent results. Most of us don't have time to research each ingredient and its ultimate outcome. I'm so happy that I have a choice of skin care developed by SSC. I have been using SSC for alittle over 2 years. I am 5 and people think I'm in my 10 years younger. I sold cosmetics in High End Department Stores, so I always had access to the top lines and latest technology. I also sold A___ for over 15 years. Using SSC is the first time I really noticed a major change in the texture and the look of my skin. My wrinkles and pores have really softened up. My complextion has evened out and looks almost flaeless. I don't need much foundation anymore.

The first product I ever tried on HSN was the insta-tox. I had tuned in on a Saturday morning and even though I had never heard of SSC before I trusted your judgement by choosing the auto-ship plan. I keep one in my overnight case because I don't want to leave home without it. My other favorites are: The A cleanser, Mineral foundation, Reverse Lift Eye Cream, Skin Cell Super Food, Super Creamerum and the RuLinea-FX face cream.

I've been an SSC customer since the very beginning. I still haven't found a cleanser I like better than the glycolic--except for maybe the C cleanser, or the A-cleanser. I use the A cleanser on a scrubbie in the shower as a shower gel. The glycolic and the C cleanser I leave on my face a bit before I rinse it off-so my skin can soak it all up. I finally gave up on my retin-A- since new A nano creams are nicer to use, feel SO fresh with FASTER results. Happy Anniversary Jeffifer--and thanks!!!

Happy 14th Anniversary Jen and SSC. My favorites are the Glucosamine line along with Emu & Aloe. This gives me great skin and effective results. The moment when my skin adjusts to the gentleness of this routine, I know it's working. My husband even notices. Then I can add the A or C line that helps me to look 10 years younger. I want to tell you my son bought me the C kit and I was amazed how much it improved my appearance, in fact I went o get my license renewed and I got in the line for over 55 yrs and when I got to the counter the lady said you have to show proof that you are over 55 I tell you I almost fell out, I am 68 and she could not believe me and asked to see my birth vertificate and I told her look at my old license it has the info on it. Well needless to say I felt good.I plan to try all your products

I've been using Serious Skin Care for the last 12 years. I am now 60. Serious Skin Care was the first skin care line I used. My favorite products are the plant stem cell cream, C-extreme, the C-serums, and the olive product series. I have extremely dry skin, 'live in Arizona, and use your olive products during the summer. My favorite cleansers are your C-cleanser and olive cleanser. I have tried other cleanser but always come back to these.

Jennifer. I love the relpicate and renew cream but I get small red marks, not really bumps, but red marks on my face after using it for 2 days or longer. I was wondering if I might be allergic to something in the cream? I was wondering if I might be able to use it every other day or so or if I should completely stop using it. I noticed a difference using it and would love to continue using it along with the serum, but I am not sure what I should do. I know this has happened to others also.

I have tried so many of the SSC products and overall I can say, I have been pleased with nearly every one. The value for price is extraordinary - go check out comparable drugstore and department store lines, and you'll see that you'll not only save money, but have superior products to what they have to offer. I love the C line, and have the Argiferm kit on perpetual autoship. Great job, SSC! I am nearly 60, have been using SSC for about 11 years and most people guess my age at 45 - 50 .

Hi JF, After 9+ years, my earliest favorite product was the Cow Milk body lotion. Loved it, miss it. Very large old time milk bottles with a tiny cow bell. June is National Dairy Month, could it make an annual return? The kits are best for value and exploring products. I use A/C lines, love SuperMel C & Replicate & Renew cream which cleared a thick dry patch on my ankles from sitting cross-legged on the ground. Tried to get rid of them for years! There are different products that I have rotated in and out of my routine but no doubt, I always come back to Serious Skin Care - especially the C products! I discovered SSC while pregnant with my twins 10 years ago. The pregnancy hormones had just wreaked havoc on my skin and I was miserable when I looked in the mirror. I saw SSC on TV during a weekend of bedrest, ordered the acne kit, within 10 days I had a clear face and a beautiful pregnant glow. A true blessing! I want to thank you most for the variety of products you offer. After two years of leukemia battling chemo, my face still looks good. When I celebrated my 40th birthday last September, people couldn't believe my age. With no hair and weight fluctuating up and down, my skin has been consistently looking great. Love the mineral foundation. It beats any I've tried and I've tried most of them. To boost it I use the hydrapixel under it. Olive oil items are fantastic! I ordered the offering for this visit. I just wanted to share with you a new use that I've discovered for your Buffing Polish. I live in Colorado & the dry air is causing a lot of problems with my skin. Lately, my skin is so dry that my legs hurt when I shave. So, I decided to try using the Buffing Polish that I recieved in the mystery box on my legs when I shave & I was amazed with the results! I am the biggest skeptic when it comes to the promises certain products extend. I've never been able to use just a cleaner without having breakouts - I've always used a toner as well. However, when I tried the glycolic cleaner I was so pleased - this really is the BEST cleanser I've ever used. The new travel tube is FABULOUS!!!!!!! Love it! I have been using SSC for many years. I turned 60 this year, and I know that these products made that BIG birthday alot easier to take. I work in an under 21 shelter and the kids could not believe my age. Several of the girls asked what I do to my skin to look so young. Understand these are 16 to 18 year olds, who don't really notice those things. Thank you so much for all of the wonderful stuff and entertainment.

I have been using Serious Skin Care for ever. I remember when CC's mom was on. I will be 50 this year and people say I look 35. Happy 14th Anniversary. Im so glad I found your products. I have most of your line, I switch them out depending on my skins needs. I mainly use the Olive Oil at night, Ester C during the day. I love the C eye and C serum. Since I was 49 I added the Rulinex and love the eye cream. I tried the Calstrum but could not get past the smell. I love the reverse lift body cream it has such a pleasant smell and really moisturizes better than the C ester Body. I also use the Mel C but its a bit grainy.

My story that I would like to share is kind of funny, it was Christmas time and we were going to the company party, one of my in laws was also going as his wife worked where i did, anyway he apparently was not coherent prior to getting to the function, so my husband suggested that we use my instatox and boy did it wake him up, not phyiscally but by the looks he was wide awake.

The memory that stands out is when my older sister asked what I was using on my face because my acne had cleared up and she also suffered with acne.I gave her a kit of glycolic cleanser, clearzit and the acne moisture cream. She came to me after a few days and said this does not work,and I asked if she was using it in the morning and at night and she said no. I told her you have to USE it for it to work...She was clear in three days! I love all of the products!

Oh, WOW, 14 years! Happy Anniversary! I first bought Clearz-it for my daughter when she was 14 yrs old and starting to get some breakouts. I just started using your products last year, haven't had time to try all of them. But the reviews are correct. This line is different, and I've tried others. I went off of HRT because of the scary studies, but after about a year, I went back because I thought my skin was aging too quickly. My new doctor wanted me off of the HRT, which I did. This is not a medical statement of proof, but my skin looks very good. I don't know if it's your products, but I'm going to continue using them.

OMG - the SMELL is divine & the scrub left my body feeling as if I had spent a few hours at a luxurious spa. Sometimes you see more flaws in yourself. A group of us were together of which I am the oldest and we were talking about our skin and I was saying I wish I could find a product that diminshes my dark circles (I use HI-Bright with Haloxyl religoiously along with many of your other products for 2 yrs) but, someone said what Dark circles you don't have any or any wrinkles for that matter and that made me feel really good and really have confindence in the fact that your products work.

Has it been 14 years already? You look as great as you did when you started on HSN with Lisa! Luckily I paid attention then so I can look my best now. Started off with the cute 4 piece mini-peal, and the glycolic acid. Went from the A line to the C line and stuck with that for well I guess 14 years! Tried great products in between like Ice Age, and Rulinea and still keep them for looking even younger (:-) I am 52 and get compliments all the time on my face, it is a wonderful, thank you Jen!

I really enjoy your products. I started several years ago and I have been very impressed w/the majority of your product lines. I have skin for over 50 and started with the caltrum products , the Vit -c line which I love and the others that were on todays special. I am addicted to buying your products. I am cream addict. I have been with SSC since the very beginning, ordering the original acne products. I'm 74 years young (thanks to SSC)and the products from A-line to the current ones offered are fantstic. The new Plant Stem Cell Cream is amazing for my skin. I've been blessed with very few wrinkles and lines, but if only I could afford to have my neck skin lifted, I would only look in my 50's. Happy Anniversary to Jen and HSN! I just want to say that it was 14 YRS. AGO, when I first bought the original acne kit for my then 14 yr old daughter. She had remarkable results and from there, I started using your products, and different lines. Found C to be the one for me! Then my sister feel for SSC, and I also hooked a few friends along the way. Keep up the good work!

Dear Jennifer, I started watching SSC on HSN the summer of your 1st year. I had worked at Neimans for 10 years in cosmetics. Their philosophy was to train us in all product lines inorder to serve the customer and not a particular line. I received gratis in all lines and tried products of all price ranges over the years. I watched you and finally decided to trust you by buying you first Christmas kit around Thanksgiving 14 years ago. I am 54 and look great. Need I say more!!!

Dear Jennifer: CONGRATS! What makes serious skin so special is YOU. Jenn, You are so honest about the product SSC, that it really sells it's self. You are just as beautiful as you were 14 years ago. I really believe you use all of these products yourself. I am 58 now and have been useing some of the products for the last 14 years since you started. I also live in Fl. so you know how hard is to keep your skin protected. Thanks for the HydraPixel, I never use foundation anymore.
