A Season of Shine!

Fall '09 is the time to amp up your sparkle factor.  On Sept. 19th we have a My Favorite Things Today's Special that's the perfect combination of class and glitz!

Ok. I admit it.  I love sequins.  Ever since my first dance recital for Mrs. Brindle's Dance studio when I was five years old, it was love at first sight.  As I tapped my heart out to "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy",  I was enchanted by the way the light danced off my costume!  Needless to say, you don't have to be on stage to wear  sequins these days - in fact you can expect to see sparkle all over the place for the upcoming  season!

Designers are breaking out sequins and metallics for daytime as a way to bring some much needed sparkle to our fall and winter wardrobes.  The glimmer of sequins can add a confident sense of style to the most ordinary basics.  Pair our Today's Special with trousers, jeans, a crisp shirt or a slim skirt for a "get noticed" daytime look.

I hope you can join me at midnight on September 19th.  Our beautiful Sequin Sweater Jacket will be offered in four dazzling colors:  Jet, Bronze, Gunmetal and Rose - A little Sequined Sass to help you put some sizzle in the cooler days ahead!

Colleen: I have an original Amedeo cameo circa 1800's brought over with my family from England. She is exquisite in every way and makes the new cameos look like costume jewelry. My problem - I need to sell her as I am a month away from losing my home due to unemployment. While I hate to let her go - I hate to starve and lose my house more. Amedeo does not give me an accurate appraisal (he said she was worth $2850.00 while his new cameos in high end magazines sell for $30-$50,000. Help.

I just love your CL by Design rings - I buy the ones in the $60-$80 price range. They are superior in the size of the stones and the weight and design of the silver settings! For example I kept your prasiolite ring and returned the one from Himalayan Gems because yours was far superior. The bands on H.G. rings are not really highly polished and if you run your fingers inside the band you will find places that are sharp and beads that stick out - my fingers itch when I wear H.G. rings!

Hi Colleen. I love your shows. I was online shopping & came across a presentation with you wearing a long moonstone as well as a long labradorite necklace that looked gorgeous together. After looking around, I found the necklace in the Heather Benjamin collection. I received mine but they are only 18 inches. Someone should have done a better quality assurance on sizing for those beautiful sequin sweater jackets. I ordered three colors, all in Large, and the fits varied wildly by color. The black fit like a S, and the bronze was like an XXL. I'll keep the pink, but I wanted all three.

I think you are a fabulous host. I missed out on the sequin jacket. My color was already sold out by the time I got home from work. I am probably in the wrong place to ask this question, but I was not sure where else to go. I am wanting to contact Heidi Daus. My favorite ring has started losing the purple stones. The ring is the large purple square ring with clear stone around the square. I was wondering if it would be possible to get some replacement stones at my cost. Let me know.

Colleen, I have ordered your necklace boxes and I think they're the neatest thing since sliced bread. Each box has four removable trays. I need to order some more. Will they be returning to HSN? Also, I need more bangle bracelet boxes. The one I have has several rows of removable rods (from front to back)for holding bracelets. It also has some drawer space below. I would love to see more ladies' pants that are a little different, i.e., brocade, etc. It seems that when there is a show on, especially Diane Gilman, all the jeans are the same. Hi Colleen, I love watching your favorite things! I am proportioned well, a size 6, and just ordered the va va voom skinny jeans. I love the fit BUT I have a suggestion - My legs are not at all chunky or heavy for my size, but I am athletic and have calf mucsles. The leg area is a little snug and fit more like leggings. This makes them a tad uncomfortable as one of the reviewers actually wrote. I thought these jeans would be much more comfortable if they had another half inch or so in the legs.

Colleen, I am so dissappointed that the TS sequin jacket I ordered on 9-19 has not even shipped yet (9-26). I bought this for a Black Tie affair I am leaving for on the am of 9-29. HSN usually ships fast and I thought I'd have it. I had been calling customer service since 9-24 hoping they'd offer to overnight it so i'd have it for my event but to no avail. It's like they read from a script and are not flexible. I am really upset.

Hi Colleen, Thank you for the jewelry boxes especially the ring boxes. I like the new long necklaces which can be worn long or doubled for a two strand look. However, one problem I have is that eventually the longer strand gets longer and the shorter strand ends up clutching my throat. Do you have any suggestions for keeping the lengths from changing outside of a twist tie? (grin) Hope you have a good idea or perhaps you'll treat this as a product suggestion. Regards, Marilyn

Hi Colleen, my question is for Nicky Butler. I have his Raj 58.60ct Ruby and Honey Quartz Bracelet. It's gorgeous, the problem is the toggle clasp. The bar on the toggle is too short. Every time I've worn it, the clasp comes undone & my bracelet falls to the floor. I'm really worried to loose it or if it falls on a hard surface I'm worried that the stones will be lost or broken. I paid over $200 & purchased the ext. warranty. Please ask if the toggle clasp can be replaced with a lobster claw.

Dear Coleen, I am a tremendous fan of yours. I love HSN. Only one problem. I am a 60 year old petite woman. It saddens me that I cannot find my size in clothing and intimate apparel. Dear Coleen: I absolutely love the Theme line and especially the theme crepe knit pants. They were available in black and brown and I bought both and wear them constantly. Are they going to be available this fall in more colors? it seems like even though they were a customer pick they are being discontinued?? I hope not. I have been waiting for Navy, Olive, Grey and any other colors they make. I love watching you. you are beautiful and a great host.

Colleen, a few days ago, you had on 3/4 sleeve athena top in royal blue (at least that is what it looked like). you were also sporting a colorful drop gem necklace but i could not tell if it was attached to the top or not. I really loved the look and didn't know if it were 2 separate purchases or just the 1...where can i find the beautiful gem neckline blouse or that necklace? Hi Colleen, I am excited I found your blog. I have called several times to find out about the sequin jacket. I saw it advertized in fall fashions, I fell in love with it and wanted to order it, but no ne knew the order number for it or when it would be available. Hi Colleen: I always love watching you. I have one request. Some of the things I dearly love (like the Slinky Brand Untamed Paisley Long Gore skirt) are always way too long. I would wear a large (some x-large) and I'm only 5ft nothing. I would have to cut off 4-6 in off the garment. I am ready to buy one of each color. can HSN make it more convenient for us short girls. Because I'm short and round I can't wear things too long.

I called the other day asking multiple reps how to track down this item...although they were very nice they could not help me locate it. Hi Colleen! You really earn your paycheck with Stefannie Greenfield boy does she talk. I wanted to tell you I just came from Florida and I bought 6 cuff bracelet sleeves (thats what I call them) I wish I could send you a picture of them they are fabulous. Its like a round cushion made out of (terciopelo) cant think of the name in English a little longer than 2' you put you bracelets around what looks like a large Salami from Publix and then you put it inside the cover with a zipper fabulous.

Colleen, I am a woman who has to wear wigs, because I have no hair. However, buying one of Toni's wigs is almost imopossible. I cannot go on line any time I want because there is never enough stock. Colleen, thank you for bringing Richard & Marianna to HSN! I have many, many of their pieces, especially goddess'. I have 1 in white bone, my first & named her Wispering Wind. Then I bought a blue fibre optic goddess, she's a little big but I still wear her. I have 2 pair if goddess earrings 1 with oval face & 1 with round face. I have one that was so big I couldn't, but I resolved the problem took her to a jeweler & he cut the sides off & made her into a pendant...beautiful.

Hi Colleen-I love the looks of this upcoming TSV, but I'm not wowed by that bronze color. It's too orangey. Could you bring this back in in a true bronze that doesn't have red or orange in it? I brought a beautiful Nicky Butler necklace about 3 to 4 month ago, it is beautiful and expensive (over $390) I love it, i work from home, so I don't get to ware it much, the 2nd time I put it on the beads fell apart! I don't want to return the necklace, just want to get it fix! Custmer service said that they can't help, can you? I collect Nicky and very disappointed right now.

colleen, old buddy oh-pal....i've been noticing all the big-purses, for-sale anymore, but myself i-do-not like to carry the big purses..and also some stores are putting up signs here they do-not want people carrying them..as in the antique places or flea markets a person could break-something. with the big, bags.thank-you...smile it's free..

Colleen, can you please make sure to go over the sizing very early during the TS presentation? I know HSN had some sizing adjustments so the missy sizes are running slightly smaller than previously. I have last years version of this jacket in a size medium but I'm wondering if I will have to go to a large this year. Please let us know if this is true to size, running large, etc. Thanks.

Colleen, I would love a Prestige box that allows us to store our jewelry by sets or suites. It needs to have removable snaps in the box where we can snap in a holder for a necklace, bracelet, earrings, and a ring all within one slot in a box. If it could have multiple slots that would be great, within one box. This would allow us to keep our jewelry from different lines together within one box without have to open multiple boxes to pull out the necklace, then the ring, then the earrings, etc.

Colleen, I love everything you bring to HSN. I have 3 Prestige boxes (plus 5 others) that are overflowing with all the jewelry I've gotten over the years with HSN. I have a request please, Karen Bizer has Navratna jewelry...I like the meaning and symbolism. However I would love to see CL by design, Sajen, or Nicky Butler, come out with the Navratna symbol in silver with clearer gemstones than the ones Karen uses in Technibond. Hi Colleen, I enjoy watching you. You give the BEST descriptions! I ordered 2 different Prestige jewelry boxes over a year ago and love them. Mine are turquoise. I'd like to order another and some as gifts. The ones that are about 2 inches high, 4 large compartments (2 on either side) for cuff bracelets or necklaces, 12 medium compartments (for earrings or bracelets) and 12 small compartments along the bottom (perfect for smaller earrings or rings) Can you PLEASE bring them back!!! Hi Colleen, I just received your Prestige earring jewelry box and I LOVE IT! I found something really neat about it too. I have small clip on earrings without any dangling parts and discovered that I can put them across the top part of the earring holder bars in the top(clear)part of the box, as the bars sit down inside there's room between the top of the box and the bars-it does hold even more earrings that don't need to fit through the holes. How cool is that? I'm the lady who called in!THX
