	change their water, and add additional fresh flower food Flowers aren’t that different from people – they get hungry and thirsty, just like we do, so be sure to treat them right. Most important: Lots of fresh, room-temperature water. Change the flowers' water on a daily basis and add fresh flower food, according to the instructions on the package.
	check your flowers daily Always make sure that no foliage or debris falls below the water line or floats on top. Otherwise, bacteria could develop and plug the stems, which is unhealthy for the flower.
	re-cut their stems Every other day, re-cut the flower stems using a sharp knife or scissors. To keep the arrangement intact, tie a bit of twine around the stems before removing from the container. Cut on an angle, take off about an inch and return the flowers to the fresh water. Take care not to smash or pierce the ends because this will hinder the flower’s ability to absorb water.
	display them in a cool spot As to where to put them, find a spot that’s between 65 and 72 degrees. It should be away from direct sunlight. Other places to avoid are the tops of televisions or radiators, under ceiling fans or near vents. Additionally, don’t put your bouquet near ripening fruit. Ethylene gas, released in small amounts by the fruit, can accelerate the flowers’ aging.
