'08 Jewelry Trends
There are three trade shows/jewelry fairs in Vicenza, Italy each year. The January Fair really sets the tone for trends and direction for the year. The buyers and I spent 5 days in Italy a few weeks ago.
Here is a look at a few of the highlights from the Jewelry Fair in Vicenza, Italy.
"Chocolate"...It is true ladies, brown is the new black in jewelry design and jewelry designers are creating some spectacular treats. So whether you like Pearls, Diamonds, Gemstones, or Gold...yes, it comes in a beautiful shade of brown, you can add some hot, trendy chocolate pieces to your jewelry wardrobe. It will also be coming for you in Technibond.
"Metallics"...texture and color in metal was prominent in gold and silver at the shows. Designers are taking more of a fashion approach to fine jewelry introducing color like chocolate, gunmetal, black, green, and various shades of red. Look for this in gold, silver, Technibond, fashion jewelry, and watches. Texture adds another element of interest...some pieces fully textured and others mixed with textured and high polished components.
"Black & White"...this classic spectator look can be seen from diamonds to CZ. We also saw many great combinations of black and white opaque stones and enamel.
"All About the Wrist"...this trend is continuing in bangles and cuffs...a single statement piece or stacked in multiples. And don't forget your earrings...hoops, hoops, and more hoops work great with bangles to complete the look |
